elevated XINNv Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Dante Carinci shares the news of his passing on August 21, 2026.

Born in Scifelli, Italy, on October 11, 1956, Dante is now reunited with his beloved parents, Angelo and Liduina Carinci, his in-laws, Ignazio and Pina Saladino, and dear friends and family who passed before him.

Dante will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife, Mattia; his daughters, Daniella and Monica; and his sons-in-law, Len and Jack. He was an immensely proud Nonno to Naomi, Hugo, Julian, and Baby S., who brought him endless joy.

He was an adored brother to Luciano (Elisabina) and Teresa (Tony); a loving uncle to Matthew (Deanna), Leanne, and Anthony; and a loved great-uncle to Angelo and Michaela.

Dante also leaves behind cherished cousins and extended family, as well as lifelong friends
whose friendships meant so much to him throughout his life.

Dante devoted more than 50 years to the mechanical contracting industry and took tremendous pride in helping shape Toronto’s iconic skyline. As a principal of Hi-Rise Mechanical, and later Stellar Hi-Rise, he was respected throughout the industry for his knowledge, dedication and work ethic. His life’s work was one of his greatest sources of pride.

In the final weeks and days, the countless calls, messages, and visits from friends, colleagues, and employees brought Dante tremendous comfort and peace and were a beautiful reminder of the impact he had on so many.

Dante loved his family fiercely, took enormous pride in his work, valued his friendships, and never forgot where he came from. His humour, strength, and positive spirit will be deeply missed, but the life he built and the people he loved will carry his legacy forward.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to both the medical team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Dante and his family.

Donations may be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Dorothy Ley Hospice in Dante’s memory.
