The family announces with great sadness the peaceful passing of our brother, Dario Louis Marconato with his family at his side. Dario was born in Sudbury, Ontario the youngest of 3 children of Luigi and Angela. (nee Poratto) He completed his education in Sudbury and graduated from Cambrian College with an Instrumentation Technician diploma. He was hired by Ontario Power Generation ( formally Ontario Hydro) and worked there for 34 years. Dario was a line manager at several of the nuclear plants. He was a committed and conscientious employee who excelled at his job.
elevated QX8Cq Dario’s passion was hockey- he lived and breathed it. His favorite team was Boston Bruins and he and his friends went to Boston to see several games. He also enjoyed golf and music and as a teen he played the drums. Dario was a jack of all trades. He would gladly help friends or family install a dishwasher or air conditioner or build a new deck. Dario was an animal lover and his dogs brought him much joy,
elevated QX8Cq Dario was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He never complained about the cruel fate that was handed to him. The family would like to thank the staff of the Senior’s Health Services at Trillium Health, Rossy Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Centre at Toronto Western Hospital and Villa Forum.
elevated QX8Cq Dario is survived by his brother Robert, sister Donna-Marie and brother in law Mark Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dario was the first person I met when I was hired on as a student with Ontario Hydro. He was a great guy with an excellent sense of humour and was always exuberant. He left a positive impression with anyone that he met.
So sorry to hear this, Dario was a good “chum”to me and Bev for many years

I was fortunate to have been a friend to Dario the last 5 yrs , was amazed at his positive attitude and outlook even though he was aware of what was delt to him. I will remember his his strong belief in his God and he never complained about the road he was on .

I missed this message from Stewart but it still comes as a shock. I knew and worked with Dario at Ontario Hydro construction and later at OPG Darlington. He will be missed greatly. My condolences to his family and soooo sorry for your loss.

I have had the privilege of knowing Dario for over 45 years. I was truly blessed to have him as my brother-in -law and my friend. We had many memories to share, and I was grateful for his advice and wisdom.
Dario was taken far too young. You are truly missed.

I will always remember uncle Dario as a gregarious, funny, kind man. I have many great memories from childhood up to adulthood with him. I grew up admiring how outgoing he was and his way of always making you feel welcomed and cared for. I’m grateful that throughout his illness he was surrounded by people who love him deeply. I won’t forget that he never complained about his illness and found joy and laughter in spite of it.
I will always remember uncle Dario as a hockey-loving, outgoing personality. I have fond memories of riding in the back of his ford pick up on those crazy camp roads! As kids, it was the best and I remember laughing so much until my stomach hurt. Those were fun days. I also remember our shared love for dogs. I remember him feeding pasta (with the sauce) to Slider and believing that’s what all dogs ate!
Uncle Dario was often at my parents’ house bringing his son and daughter over to spend time with us on weekends, school breaks, etc. His kids learned how to ski with our family and every March break was full of fun and laughter. I can’t imagine how he felt when he was diagnosed with PSP. But like any hardship, he displayed tenacity, perseverance and unwavering love for his family.
Dario, I know the last few years weren’t easy for you but I hope you still felt loved. We all wished things had been different with your family.
Things really should have been.
Rest in peace.

Will always remember the rides in the back of your truck at the camp and that you always liked my cooking!

Dario and I both started working for Ontario hydro in 1981 at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station as Field Technicians. We sat at desks side by side and shared many a laugh together. So very sorry for your loss. He was indeed taken far too early.
