David Lue passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on September 21, 2026 at age 73. Born on December 26, 1952, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Vincent and Wai Lin Lue, David grew up in Cambridge alongside his siblings Lincoln, Richard, Rosalie, and Robert. In high school, he earned the Jamaican Scholarship for A Levels, leading him to Canada to study at the University of Toronto with a scholarship in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from university, David worked as an engineer at Imperial Oil in Sarnia for 35 years before retiring in 2010.
elevated z5gFm David married the love of his life, Patricia, in August 1982. Together, they shared 44 cherished years of marriage and raised three children: Sarah-Anne, Sabrina, and Gregory.
elevated z5gFm Outside of work he volunteered coaching basketball and soccer for kids for many years in Sarnia. He was an active parishioner and usher at Sacred Heart Church and helped in the church anywhere that was needed. In retirement, he volunteered his time tending the gardens at the Sarnia Hospice. David was a devoted and loving father to his children and grandchildren.
elevated z5gFm He is survived by: Wife Patricia, Daughter Sarah-Anne (Grant), grandchildren Lucas and Alexis, Daughter Sabrina (Evan), grandchildren Malcolm and Genevieve, Son Gregory (Chloe)

I worked with Dave at SPEP and I’m deeply saddened by your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Dave made the world a better place and he will be missed.

I worked with Dave at spa around 1990, as an ex Pat from Houston. Dave was fun to be around, considerate, effective at his job, and liked by all. I will pray for the family and know he is in a better place. Deepest condolences. ..
