elevated 1uO8r Deniz (Chappy) was born in Hong Kong and studied to become a lawyer.  He immigrated with his wife to Toronto in 1968 and continued practicing law here.  In 1984 they returned to Hong Kong where he worked for the Hong Kong Government and eventually retired as a District judge in 1996 whereupon they returned to Toronto.  Being an avid sportsman all his life, Chappy enjoyed golfing in his retirement.  He was an active member and supporter of the Macanese Community until his passing.  He is survived by his wife, Marie-Cecile and brothers-in-law Tony Basto (Sydney, Australia) and José Basto (Rochester, New York).
