Dear Flavia, Delon, Megan, Selek and all the Almeida family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Desmond.
We have fond memories of Desmond back in Nairobi, where he always took it upon himself to entertain us throughly, especially during the period when we were flatmates in Parklands.
Desmond loved the Hertz desk at Pearson International Airport where one could find him very late in the evenings.
Our memories of Desmond will always be there to comfort us.
Desmond and all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

In 1967 when we lived in the bush in Kericho, one night there was an unexpected knock at the door. Opened it and there was Desmond with a friend. They were driving either to or from Uganda and dropped in. My Mum, in Bombay, Aida must have given him our contact details. We had a drink and something to eat and off they went, disappeared into the night.
Never saw him again.
Sorry for your loss.

and may all the happy memories fill you with comfort and peace.
Dearest A. Flavy, Delon, Megan & Selek,
On behalf of Derwin, Darlene and Yvonne, our sincere condolences to you all. Desmond was such a genuine, loving and thoughtful man who always brightened our day. I remember him coming to pick me up from my grandparents’ place in Nairobi, carrying me on his shoulders and taking me out to play. We always had a great time, he treated me like a son and showed so much care and patience. I want you to know what an impact he had on me as a young boy. What a truly special man. We will always look back on all the fond memories we had together as friends and family. I also honour the special memories we had with my Dad, Felix and Mom, Yvonne. May Desmond’s legacy continue to live on in his family. Sending you all our love!
– Denzil, Darlene, Derwin and Mom.
