It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Desmond B Almeida, surrounded by his family on March 22nd 2026, in his 79th year.

elevated ejylp Desmond was predeceased by his Father John Francis Almeida and Mother Mabel Almeida (Fernandes)

elevated ejylp Beloved Husband of Flavia and Loving Father to Delon (Megan) and Selek, he is also survived by his sister Rosette and Nephew Neil.

elevated ejylp Desmond had a passion for life and strong thirst to experience the world through travel and adventure.  He loved music, socializing and dancing and always enjoyed playing music and sports.  Much of his working life was spent in sales, he enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends and connections.  Desmond always made sacrifices for his family, moving from the comfort of his home in Kenya, to Canada, to start a new life and provide a bright future for his 2 children.  He was never shy to lend a helping hand, or help support family in need.  His most endearing trait was his humor which was infectious and could brighten the darkest of days.

elevated ejylp He will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

elevated ejylp A viewing will be held from 12:00 noon to 2pm on Saturday April 4th at Assumption Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home ; 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga.  This will be followed by a service and burial.  A reception will follow with food & beverages.
