elevated ufzRK The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday December 27, 2021 for visitation. A Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:30 am . The final rite of committal and interment will take place privately at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill). Domenico Alonzi of North York passed away in the early morning on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born on August 30, 1951 in Sora, Italy to his loving parents Donato and Santina (Palleschi) Alonzi. The family then moved to Canada on September 8, 1967.
Domenico’s two main jobs were a truck driver and a mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed crossword puzzles and rebuilding classic cars (specifically Mustangs).
His mother Santina passed away recently in 2015 while his father passed away in 1972. Sadly, he also lost his brother in-law Elio in 2009 and brother in-law Lino in 2021.
Domenico is survived by his sister Anna Maria and Colomba along with their brother Claudio. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Anthony, Steve, Mark, Mary, Donata, Joanne, Cinzia, Uncle Gerardo (in Italy), aunt Maria Pia (Alonzi) Middei, Anna Maria (Mammone) Palleschi, and the many other relatives in Italy, England, and Canada.
Family and Friends are invited to view the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:30 am.

Thank you, Gianetta. Remember that name? When you first came back from Italy in the late 1970’s and the 3 of us shared a bedroom (you must have been 4 or so at that time). We were so happy that you came back. He looked at you as you were sleeping and said “she looks like a movie star.” Great memory. RIP Domenico.

Thank you so much for everything you have done. You are my brother forever. A man who everyone would turn to for a final solution when they had a difficult problem. RIP bro’. Enjoy the music of the angels.
Rest In Peace Dom. I have just learned of your passing and am heartbroken. Has I’ve known you since I was 2 years old. Although time had shifted us apart you always stayed close in ways I didn’t understand until now. I will miss you and wish I got the chance to say goodbye.
