elevated MOUGt Don Ackerman, age 69, died peacefully on November 28th,2025. Don is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vanna Schiralli, and his children Matthew and Stephanie. Pre-deceased by his  mother Frances Ackerman (Falkner) and his father Gerald Ackerman.

elevated MOUGt Don graduated in 1979 with a BSc (Hons) from St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto.

elevated MOUGt Soon after graduation he joined Saverio Schiralli Agencies where he advanced to become  the Director of Sales and Operations. After 31 years, he then started his own company, Don Ackerman Wines and Spirits which he ran for the last 15 years. He holds the Lower and Higher Certificates (with Distinction) from the Independent Wine Education Guild of England.

elevated MOUGt He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved squash, racquetball, skiing, hiking, golf, and his beloved motorcycle where he won several racing awards. He will be sadly missed.

elevated MOUGt Funeral arrangements were private at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill who cared for Don in his final days.
