Wong Ho Shiu Mee, also known as Dorothy Wong (黃何韶美), passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the age of 84, and will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Shiu Mee is survived by her husband Joseph, her 4 sons Conan, Derrick, Hubert, Felix, their partners Sun, Jennifer Perez, Jennifer Cho and her 9 grandchildren Mya, Indiana, Lukas, Evan, Tamara, Tatyana, Alex, Felicity, and Leilani.
Shiu Mee was born in Shaoguan, China on April 18, 1942, during the second world war as the eldest of 3 siblings. She returned to the hometown of Xinhui and later moved to Hong Kong. In 1967, she emigrated to Montreal. After marriage she moved to Deep River and then to Kincardine. In 1977, she moved to Toronto.
She enjoyed looking after the family, shopping, music, and dancing. She was friendly, helpful, approachable, warm, and loved being with people. She was a wonderful lady and an unforgettable lifetime friend.
Though the heart aches, we know this will pass, as we who remain are grateful for the time that we have had. Moments are fleeting; memories are long, but love is eternal. We will see you again, mama.
Visitation and funeral service is at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home at 10am on May 23, 2026. The internment is at York Cemetery section 4.
