elevated 9hTNe Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dragica Salopek, who was called home on October 16th 2023. Dragica was born and raised in Croatia and was very proud of her Croatian heritage. So much so that when she immigrated to Canada with her husband Slavko they quickly found their place within the Croatian community in Toronto. The two found home away from home with the fellow Croatians, continue to celebrate their heritage and traditions with their favourite pass time as a couple together dancing Croatian folklore.

Dragica was very hard working, determined woman, who ensured that her family was always well taken care of.  She found time to share her love with those that mattered most to her all while building a life with her husband for her family.  Dragica leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Slavko, children Tomislav, Jadranka and Ivica, grandchildren; Mirjana, William, Nicholas, Zackary, Matijas,  daughter-in-law Ana and son-in-law Billy.

Dragica enjoyed feeding her family, Sunday lunches, kava, scratch tickets, travelling to Croatia, Young and the Restless, laughing and spending time with her family and friends. It was always the simple little things that mattered to her, simple acts of  kindness and caring gestures is what made her heart full.  She was a giving and generous person, always willing to help in whatever capacity she could. Her artistic abilities will always fill her families memories especially her passion for creating Uskrsnja Jaja.  Dragica had a green thumb, loves to bake, dance and listen to her favourite Croatian music.  She will be remembered for all of things and more.

We say goodbye with heavy hearts and deep sadness but also find comfort that she is at rest, at peace and no longer suffering. Rest in Peace our beloved Dragica Salopek. Forever and always in our thoughts and memories.  Puno te volimo nas angel.
