elevated wl3Cp Obituary
Earnest “Murray” Swift passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the age of 93.

elevated wl3Cp Murray is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, and his five children, Douglas, David, Michael, Nancy, and Randy. He was also a respected stepfather to Joseph, John, Michael, and Karen. He leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

elevated wl3Cp Murray was born in Armstrong, British Columbia, to John and Jean Swift. He was the middle of five children (siblings Glen, Lenard, Albert and June). As a young man, he trained at the RCMP Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan, and upon graduation was stationed in Sarnia, Ontario. His service took him to several communities across Southern Ontario before he retired from policing as Staff Sergeant. Following his distinguished career in law enforcement, Murray went on to serve as Vice President of Operations with the Ontario Insurance Crime Prevention Bureau, where he built a respected and successful second career until his retirement at age 62. In later years, he generously gave his time as President of the Board of Directors of the condominium he shared with his beloved wife, Margaret.

elevated wl3Cp Murray will be remembered as a strong and reserved man, a devoted and supportive husband, and a steady, loving father. He was deeply grateful for his life and especially for the time spent with family. The family holds fond memories of summers together at their cottage in the Kawarthas.
