elevated 1Zbk5 Obituary
elevated 1Zbk5 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Editha “Edie” Dumayas Sobretodo on December 30th, 2024 at the age of 83. Just 3 weeks earlier she faced an out of nowhere diagnosis of an aggressive lung cancer that she accepted with calm resolve knowing she’d soon be reunited with her husband, who passed 3 years earlier.
elevated 1Zbk5 Edie was the beloved wife for 52 years to Adriano “Dodo” Cafuir, who — so she claims — once serenaded her under a guava tree; opinionated and generous mother to daughter Dodie and son Adriano Jr.; admiring mother-in-law to Christina; proud grandmother to Sheppard; cherished daughter of Florentino and Juliana; teased yet loved sibling of Lolita, Florentino, Carol, George, Delilah, and Zorayda; and sneaky scrap-feeder to dog Daisy.
elevated 1Zbk5 Edie was colourful, outgoing, and always on the move. Her teenage years at an agricultural school gave her the green thumbs she used to nurture her many plants and award-winning gardens. And she loved music. She lit up when playing violin or piano, especially for a crowd. She knew few lyrics, but that never stopped her ornamental soprano singing. She never missed TV appointments with Lawrence Welk and Columbo, and never met a bowl of soup she didn’t like. Edie would talk your ear off, not hesitating to tell you about her beauty-queen days, track & field glory, and of course, her tireless 35 years as a Registered Nurse.
elevated 1Zbk5 Her family will forever miss her vast collection of take-out food containers, knack for connecting to anyone and everyone, and boundless zest for life.
elevated 1Zbk5 Whenever you want her, take a note from her favourite song — and dream, dream, dream.

Hi Adriano
Very sorry for your loss. Wishing you strength and peace in days ahead.
We are very sorry about your loss, Adrian and Dodie and Chrstina. We were planning a get-together with Edith and a friend Rene from San Francisco last summer but a heavy storm and flooding caused us to cancel. We deeply regret that we were not able to spend time with her, not knowing what God has planned for her. We will deeply miss her as well as Dodo who departed us just two years ago.
May God bless her and embrace her and Dodo. They will be together now.
Love,
Rod, Irene & Family
Jun and Dodi,
Our thought and prayers are with you & your family. Our sincere
condolence to Jun & Dodi.
Edie was a wonderful neighbour.
Adriano and Dodie, I am so sorry about your Mom. She was so wonderful and truly one of a kind. I have the absolute best memories of holiday meals at your house and talking about music and adventures. I truly wish we had a chance to play a few more duets.
Much love to you both,
Meredith

My deepest condolences during this difficult time to you and your family. May your Mom rest in peace.
I have great memories of Edie’s humour and playfulness. She was very warm and welcoming. I loved her gift for banter and joy for performing.
Thinking of you guys a lot, and wishing you peace and strength at this time.
Dear Jun Jun and family,
Our condolences during these times. Your mom was one of the nicest and kindest ladies we have ever met. She used to make us noodles and she never forgot about our birthdays.

Adje and Dodie,
Our deepest condolences. Sorry we couldn’t physically be there, but our hearts are with you.
