Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Edmond Eid who passed away on July 26th surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving husband to Samira Khleif for 65 years and cherished father to Fadi, Ramzy and May (Steven Moffat) and adoring Jiddo to his grandson Zein who he referred to as his whole life.

Edmond was a devoted brother to his sisters Adma (Gabi Kassis) Fadillah ( Anis Toubia) who have all passed on and he is survived by his brother Jameel (Rose) and sister Jamal. 

He will be sorely missed by all his nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law who were his circle of love and happiness.

As a Director for Public Relations at Mediterranean Refining company, Edmond strove to ensure that all the employees were treated with the utmost equity and respect and he fought fiercely for their rights and everyone knew they could count on him.

Unfortunately, the political upheaval in Lebanon left him no choice but to uproot from the comfort of  his cherished  Lebanon, leaving much of his extended family and a job he loved behind as his primary focus was the safety of his family.  He immigrated his family to Canada in 1976.

Once again, he applied himself to more schooling which landed him the title of Assistant Director of Engineering and Property Maintenance at The Harbour Castle Westin.

Family was everything to dad, he wanted to make sure that we experienced everything life had to offer in travel, and whether it was on road trips or flying to new places, we were encouraged to try new things and enjoy ourselves together.  He would never hesitate to drive us anywhere we wanted and pushed us to gain our independence by supporting our choices and saying ‘why not?”

Dad loved great food and entertaining, he was an amazing cook and seafood was his specialty. He was most happy when he could have the whole extended family over for a seafood feast that he had prepared.

The outpour of love and support that we have received at the news of his passing has been a true testament to his selflessness and kindness from all who have known him.

We are heartbroken as he is truly irreplaceable, and we will miss him more than words can say yet we recognize how fortunate we have been  to have had him as our father and we feel him in our hearts today and he will remain there eternally. Dad was bigger than life to us and he is known by everyone as Edmond with the big heart! We love you so much dad!
