elevated AroM6 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our dad Edward Lopes on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Providence Health Care -Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence. He was the beloved husband of Philomina “Mina” (nee D’Souza).
elevated AroM6 Loving father of Aurelia and her husband Neil, Neil and his wife Leah, Andrea and her husband Dax. Cherished grandfather of Joshua, Jason, Rachel-Ann, Jaden and Noah.
elevated AroM6 Edward worked as a purchasing officer and retired from Larsen & Toubro after 38 years. He was an independent thinker and hard worker, but most of all a simple man with a heart of gold. Faithful to his God and his family. He was widowed early in life but he held on to his faith and his family. He educated and provided for his children all on his own. He loved watching movies, good Indian food, cooking and sea food were his favorite. He was an explorer, a devote catholic with a simple outlook to life, a man of few words.
elevated AroM6 Due to current COVID restrictions, the family will be having a private family funeral to celebrate the life of Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home. Neil, I spoke to you only a day before your dad Eddie passed away to find out how he was doing at Providence Healthcare.
Both my wife Marie & I have a lot of memories of Eddie. Marie’s family and Eddie’s family were parishioners of St.Joseph’s Parish in Umerkhadi, Bombay. Eddie & I worked together in L&T Bombay in the late 50’s.He was known to be a man of few words but an honest, hardworking man with a deep faith and trust in God.
