Eleanor J. Mendoza

On March 14, 2023, Eleanor Jiz de Ortega Mendoza passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer in Toronto, Canada. She was 77 years old. Born in Manila, Philippines in 1945 and lifelong resident of the Parkdale community, she was a career nurse and avid reader. Eleanor was well-loved for her selfless and empathic spirit, and will forever be remembered as a supportive and loving wife and mother.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 45 years Alfeo Mendoza, and her son Allen Joseph Mendoza. She is also survived by her siblings Jean, Edna and Rogelio, and was predeceased by her sisters Carmen and Baby.
A public funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, and will be followed by a private inurnment service with family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada. The family thanks all for their prayers and messages of support.
