It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleonora Anna Carnemolla on March, 1st 2023, after a short illness at the age of 95. Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Giacomo and her only son, the late Salvatore. She was born July 27, 1927 in Gallipoli, Italy and was one of eight siblings. She moved to Canada with her husband and son in 1953 and started a new life and welcomed her daughter, Elsa. She was hard-working, social with friends and family and loved life. Her love language was cooking and she would cook and bake as her loved ones gathered. Eleonora will be sadly missed by her family, especially her daughter Elsa (Emanuel), four grandchildren : Ross (Daniela), Bianca (Carmelo), Angelo and Jimmy. Her great-grandchildren Scarlett, Michael, and Victoria will always be in her heart. She touched many lives and will always be remembered for her sewing, loud kisses and exceptional dishes. To know her was to love her and she will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Mamma. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Providence Healthcare, Scarborough Health Network- Birchmount Hospital or to a donation of your choice would be appreciated.
No amount of words can express the pain that you are going through. I am sending you love and prayers and hope you are able to find strength during this most difficult time. No one can ever replace the amazing person that your Nonna (Mother) was.
I enjoyed listening to your stories of her favourite shopping and restaurant visits, her sewing, baking and cooking expertise and most of all her unique sayings. My thoughts are with you during this time
My Zia Anna was such an inspiration all my life. We travelled together from Sicily on a boat in 1954 with my mother and siblings and our beloved Sal. Her expression of love was always one of kindness a smile and always complimentary of anything regarding to fashion. Always dressed as a perfect lady, and everything matched. Her love for her family was always her priority. I will truly miss her I was so blessed to have her in my life.
Dear Bianca and family,
We all need to face that day, the day we go back to our Heavenly Father. Nonna has never left you all. It’s just her time to be in a better place and she’ll continue to watch over you and love you every day from above.
Bianca, remember, we love you very much and because we love you, we also love Nonna.
When I was younger, I never really knew what “Rest in Peace” meant except what it literally meant but as my walk with Jesus continues everyday, now I know. There’s only one place we could ever be in where we could finally find peace – that’s when we are finally with God in Heaven. Everything is pure there. There’s no more worry, no more burden, no more pain, no more stress. Nothing matters anymore and there’s only eternal peace and love.
Nonna is Home now.
With lots of love,
Lily
Lily you have touched us all with your kind comforting words.❤️
Dearest Elsa,
It was only today that I learned of your mother’s passing and I am sorry that we are so far away and could not attend her funeral service.
Senora Anna was truly an exceptional person whom I had the pleasure of meeting several times and she reminded me of my own mother – and they even shared the same birthday which made it even more special.
Her talent as a seamstress simply made me awestruck – I will never forget the baby bassinet cover she made for Scarlett – I had never seen such beautiful workmanship. And that was only one of her many talents. And she was always very much a lady in her appearance.
I feel blessed that I met her and I know she will be so missed. May she forever Rest in Peace.
Please accept our sincerest condolences to the entire family.
The Riccio family sends their deepest and sincerest condolences to the entire family.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Anna’s passing – she was a dear friend to my parents Angelo and Josie Alfieri – they send their deepest sympathy to the family. Regretfully they are unable to express their condolences in person but will be keeping you in their thoughts.
Eleonora: quanta dolcezza, quanto amore…

Elsa and family. No words can express the sadness 😔Matteo and I feel over the loss of your amazing mom.
She leaves us with such great memories and for that we are most greatful for.
Matteo and I were just newlyweds when Anna and Giacomo bought the house next door to us on Snowhill. We were both so excited to see them (being Italian and all). We felt the comfort of knowing that we had just gained another set of parents and they a daughter and a son. Because of this my mom and Anna became the best of friends. They both had so much in common. Both had a passion for sewing and cooking.
Friday nights became a ritual. These two women spent hours sewing or creating new recipes while my dad (Mario) and Giacomo chatted away sharing a glass of wine. They truly looked forward to their Friday nights together.
Years later after we moved away, Anna still remained the nonna next door to my boys and my moms best friend!! They still continued their Friday ritual and Anna continued to check up on me.
Thank you Anna (mom) for all the love and support you have given us and for loving our boys like you did.
We will always hold and cherish all the beautiful memories you have left us with. I for sure will definitely miss our little chats.
Until we meet again…. Love ❤️ you always and forever Matteo, Pompea, Matthew and Anthony Zambri!💕💕💕
Dear Bianca & Family,
My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. Wishing you all peace, comfort and strength in hopes that it will get you through this most difficult time.
Lots of love,
Isabelle
I’m going to miss my Zia Anna’s passion and great spirit. I will miss seeing the magic of her creations in the kitchen and the pride and joy it brought her to cook for her family. I will miss her infectious laugh and her constant kisses on my cheek that left a love dent. Thank you Zia for the great memories and legacy you leave behind for the family and friends that loved you and will remember you with affection.
RIP Zia Anna
My zia Anna I am going to miss you , the loud kisses ,saying what was on your mind, and even though we live far away asking about us and how we were doing. You were my padrina and part of my life growing up and til the end. I have many great memories and one I will always remember is coming to see your love birds when I was a kid. I always left with a pair of new underwear. You will always be remembered Love Giulietta and family💞
