It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elisa Di Loreto at 9:05 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Beloved wife of Goffredo (deceased) for over 70 years, she leaves behind her two children Luciano and Rosanna, and their spouses Irene and Dave. Most notably however, her departure will be felt with immense sadness by her two grandchildren, Jessica and David, whom she embraced with more love than anyone can imagine. She also came to love and know if only briefly, her beautiful 20-month-old great grandson Charlie. Nonna Elisa helped raise her two grandchildren and daily she and her husband Goffredo, would take their grandchildren on all kinds of adventures with particular love for the outdoors and camping in Orillia. How their grandchildren loved those days! Elisa also leaves behind her brother Luigi, sister in laws Maria and Anna, and countless nephews and nieces.
elevated 9yyfr Until recent years when she became physically unable, Elisa attended Sunday morning mass regularly and enjoyed watching her Italian TV shows on RAI TV. Her love for baking cookies and pizzelle is legendary as was evidenced by her son and his many friends when they visited and were always treated with cookies and tea. She loved to travel particularly to Florida, Mexico, and Cuba where the warm water and long beaches reminded her of the beaches of her homeland in Italy.
elevated 9yyfr Elisa may have been small in stature but her impact on the people she met was enormous. Her passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all she touched, and God will be happy to make all the space she needs when she enters His kingdom. We love her so much and she will be eternally missed!
elevated 9yyfr Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill), on Friday June 20, 2025, from 3-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated also at Holy Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21 at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St. just south of Highway #7). In memory of Elisa, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada
