elevated egt3s Elisa Salerno (née DeFino) passed away peacefully at Southlake Residential Care Village in Newmarket, Ontario, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the age of 96.

elevated egt3s Elisa is survived by her loving children: Mary (James), Teresa, Eugene (Anna), and Connie (Jeromy); her cherished grandchildren: Jamie (Johanna), Katie, Chris, Alicia, Armand, Jennifer, and Josh (Felicia); and her precious great-granddaughters: Zoey and Freyja. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Onido Salerno.

elevated egt3s Elisa was born on August 19, 1930, in Bonifati, Italy, to Giovanni and Concetta DeFino. In 1952, she married Onido Salerno.

elevated egt3s With three young children and expecting their fourth, Elisa and Onido made the courageous journey to Toronto to build a better life for their growing family.

elevated egt3s Elisa’s heart was always centered on her family. She was a deeply loving, generous mother whose warmth extended naturally to her nieces, nephews, and anyone who walked through her door.

elevated egt3s A gifted cook and baker, she made sure no family gathering was ever without a table overflowing with delicious homemade meals and treats.

elevated egt3s Her kindness, generous spirit, and the comfort of her table will remain held in the hearts of her family forever.
