elevated 2NXDI Elizabeth “Betty” Ross, 85, of Toronto, Ontario passed away on November 11, 2018 at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Born June 12, 1933, in Edinburgh, Scotland, she is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Peffers of Edinburgh, Scotland, and her late husband, Thomas “Tommy” Ross of Stirling, Scotland.

elevated 2NXDI Betty moved to Canada when she was 19 years old looking for opportunities as a nanny. After living in Montreal, she moved to Toronto where she met her husband, Tommy. Bonding over their Scottish heritage, they enjoyed going to dances and socializing with their friends and family. Betty also loved painting and took up crafting in her later years.

elevated 2NXDI Betty was one of five daughters including Ann Fisher, Molly Reid (decd.), Rita McMillan and Letitcia Murphy. Surrounded by family in her last moments, she is survived by her four children and their partners, Brian and Kathy Ross, Elizabeth and Brent Smith, Eileen and Michael MacDougall, and Mary-Lynn Ross and Les Meaney. Betty was also a loving grandmother to Kristin and Derek Mumford, Amanda Smith, Megan MacDougall, Caitlin MacDougall, Brittany Collins, Alexandra Collins and Mitchell Ross, as well as to her two great-grandchildren Jacob and Avery Mumford.

elevated 2NXDI The family wishes to thank those who have offered emotional support during this difficult time and were there for Betty in her final days. Visitation for Betty will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Toronto, followed by a service.
