Ella Unterlander (nee Sommer)
June 24, 1933 – November 11, 2024
Ella died peacefully in her 91st year on November 11th. She is reunited with her beloved husband Frank.
Predeceased by her parents; John and Mary Sommer, her sisters; Irene and Gisela, her brother John, daughter-in-law Nancy, sister-in-law Mary, and brothers-in-law Don, Frank, and Richard.
She is survived by her sons Frank J.C. and Michael (Joy). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chris (Kelly), John (Sarah), James, and Lindsay. Her memory will be cherished by her sisters Mitzi and Susanne, and brother Walter (Frances), as well as her sister-in-law Christine and brother-in-law Harry. Ella will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Ella was an active member of the King City community. She supported the King City Fire Department and the Lions Club, was a proud blood donor, and a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League in Sacred Heart Parish. Ella volunteered with various charities, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the food bank, and the blood donor clinic. She gave much of herself and asked for little in return.
She loved to travel, gather with family and friends, and to play cards. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and a cherished friend. She delighted in hosting family gatherings and making sure everyone was well fed.
Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Frank, Michael and family. Our condolences for your loss. Ella was a wonderful lady
Dear Frank, Michael and families
I have such wonderful memories of Ella and your Dad. They both were a regular presence in my life. I know they were great friends with my mom and dad, Fran and Don Coughlin. Your parents were a strong presence in the community of Sacred Heart Parish. May your memories bring comfort and peace. I am sure Ella and Frank are still very close to you and your families for they are with our God, who is very close. May the songs of the angels lead Ella home .
So sorry to hear of Ella’s passing. Her and Frank were great neighbors
we loved their xmas parties.
