elevated TM8I6 Obituary

elevated TM8I6 Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother Emilia Trznadel passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 100, leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, devotion, and quiet courage. Emilia was predeceased by her husband Jozef and her son, Leszek, losses that shaped her journey but never diminished her capacity to love fiercely. Emilia raised her three children largely on her own, navigating hardship with a strength that inspired everyone who knew her. When Leszek was diagnosed with a debilitating mental illness, she faced the realities of caregiving with grace, patience, and an unshakeable commitment to his dignity. Emilia continued to build a life for her family through perseverance and love. She is survived by her daughters Mary (Paul) and Christina (Paul), who carry forward her values of loyalty, grit, and compassion. Her grandchildren — Elizabeth (Hugh), Michelle (Stephan), and Michael (Emily) — will forever remember her gentle humour, her stories, and the way she made every person feel seen and loved. Her great‑grandchild, Jack (Elizabeth and Hugh) did not have the opportunity to meet his great grandmother due to her declining health. Emilia had an extensive career in the food industry- predominantly with Simpsons and The Bay. She was regularly recognized for her exceptional customer service skills and turned down a promotion so that she could focus on her family. Emilia understood how important it was to help others given the struggles and hardship she herself faced. She dedicated her spare time to volunteer for Share Life, an organization that helps the less fortunate. Family and heritage were central to her life. She advocated fiercely for her son’s care, cooked traditional Polish foods, and encouraged her children to stay connected to their culture. Her life was not easy, but it was profoundly meaningful. She taught her family that strength is often quiet, love is often sacrificial, and the most extraordinary lives are built from ordinary days lived with purpose. Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Hillsdale Terraces for their compassionate care as mom’s health declined. Special thanks goes to Ocean View’s nursing, recreation, physiotherapy and personal care teams for their ongoing and compassionate care. Special thanks to Dr. Aziz and Stephanie for their guidance in delivering exceptional medical care. A private service will be held on Tuesday September 8th at Holy Cross Funeral Home.
