elevated Epm91 Obituary

elevated Epm91 Peacefully, at the age of 81 God called Emiliano Fernandes De Sousa to rest after a short battle with cancer and a long journey with kidney disease. Emiliano leaves behind his loving wife, Maria de Lourdes Ribeiro, his three children Ana De Sousa, Carlos De Sousa (Sandra), and Gina Botelho (Joe), his grandchildren, Kevin, Melissa (Kevin), Patrick, Emily, and Amanda, his great grandchildren Victoria and Vanessa and his fur-grandchildren Cookie and Lola. He now rests with his granddaughter Dianne Pereira. He will also be remembered and missed by many family and friends here in Canada and in Portugal.

elevated Epm91 Born and raised in Portugal in the village of Melgaco, Emiliano got married to Maria de Lourdes at the age of 19. He joined the army in his early 20s and after retuning Emiliano became a taxi driver and passionately drove his clients throughout Europe. Proudly, he was also a Bombeiro Voluntário (firefighter) for many years. After his children immigrated to Canada, Emiliano and Maria de Lourdes came to Canada in 1991. Emiliano was proud to call Canada home.

elevated Epm91 Emiliano is fondly remembered by many as a man who was quick to share a joke or a story to bring a smile to your face.

elevated Epm91 Pai, obridago pelos beijinhos na testa que davas quando éramos pequenos. Vamos-nos sempre lembrar de ti com munito amor e carinho.

elevated Epm91 Avô, we will always remember you as a stubborn man, who had a soft spot for all of us. You showed us what it meant to be a strong man, and we will always remember you for that. Thank you for giving us your love, telling us your stories, and sticking out your dentures to make us laugh. Because of you we know all the swear words in Portuguese, and we promise to swear at anyone who cuts us off when we’re driving. We will have a glass of wine for you and take care of avó just like you asked us to.

elevated Epm91 Little did we know that we would have to say goodbye so quickly and it hurts to see you go, but we will always remember you fondly and you will never be forgotten.

elevated Epm91 Obigrado pelas memorias. You will be missed

elevated Epm91 The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Credit Valley Hospital for caring for Emiliano in his final day and to Dr. Veronica Silva for her care and attention over the years.

elevated Epm91 In Lieu of flowers, you are welcome to donate to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation in Emiliano’s memory.
