elevated N2lbg November 11, 1927 – November 23, 2020

elevated N2lbg It is with great sadness that the family of Ercole Richichi announce his passing at his home on November 23, 2020 at the age of 93. Ercole will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sara, daughters Julie (Lewis) and Ornella (Ray) and his four grandchildren, Gabriella, Natasha, Lucas and Lauren. He will be missed by his siblings Ida (Carmine), Gilda (Giovanni), Mario (Rita) and Alfredo (Carmelina), and siblings in law, Maria (Gaetano), Giovanni (Tinuccia), Nella (Tony), Michele (Maria), Lilliana (Mario) and many nephews, nieces, family, and friends.

elevated N2lbg Ercole was born in Paterno, Italy on November 11, 1927; he was the patriarch of the Richichi family. He came to Canada in 1959 to follow the love of his life. They began their life together with an incredible work ethic while supporting family and friends. Ercole worked hard and became a  master machine operator and was called upon by many construction sites to train younger workers and didn’t retire until he was 70 years of age. His creative handiwork can be found in hundreds of houses across the GTA and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked—family, friends and neighbours.

elevated N2lbg Ercole’s true passion in life was for his wife, Sara, who he was inseparable from for over 61 years. They loved cooking traditional Italian dishes together, experienced beautiful trips, and had countless walks around their neighbourhoods where they were known for being the sweetest couple on the block. Ercole and Sara happily shared everything in their lives, most importantly, their two daughters, Julie and Ornella. He was incredibly proud of them, did everything he could possibly do to ensure that they had everything they needed. His four grandchildren were his pride and joy. Ercole loved taking care of them and spent hours in local parks, trips to Canadian Tire, and helping them build homemade toys out of anything and everything in his garage. Ercole was a man of few words, but his beautiful smile and witty humour was all his family needed to know how much he loved them.

elevated N2lbg In addition to his work and his family, Ercole’s favourite pastime was his love of professional wrestling, which was well known by anyone who knew him. His daughters fondly remember many trips to Maple Leaf Gardens on Saturday nights to watch “Sweet Daddy Siki” and “Tex McKenzie” and sitting ringside watching Hulk Hogan.

elevated N2lbg Ercole’s impact on everyone who knew and loved him, especially his family, will live on forever. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

elevated N2lbg Donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
