elevated AM4hC Esther Netto passed from this life on Dec 15th 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Christopher. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Vanessa and Artur. Doting grandmother of Joanna, Gabriela and Natalia. Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law. Cherished aunt of all her nieces and nephews. An affectionate friend to all. A giving and caring person, always ready to help anyone.
elevated AM4hC Esther was a committed believer in Jesus Christ and was always ready to extend her excellent craft skills to promote and support the Gospel. She brought joy to people in Long Term Care homes singing Christmas Carols every year. She was also the Prayer Group leader and a Lector at her Church. Jesus was always her top priority and her faith in Him was strong till the end. Her favorite song was “I just want to be where You are, dwelling daily in Your Presence”.

I never thought I’d have to pen this down for you so soon, I was clinging to hope and praying for that miracle. But I guess He loved you more, and you willingly put your life in His capable hands to do whats best.
Goodbyes are never easy and this one hurts especially. I wish I could hug you one last time, your hugs always comforted me. I wish I could wake up to hear you say you are coming to India for Christmas, see your loving face and hear you tell me that you love me, I know you did and always will. You are my very own Angel up in Heaven now. Thank you for everything you have been and done for me/us my kids, Naiara loves you to bits and misses you too, for being my rock in trying times and touching my life with your love for Jesus. You opened my eyes to Him and His promises. I thank Jesus for you.

My dearest Aunty E, With a heavy heart, I bid you farewell. I have so much to say and wish I could be with you on your final journey. But for now, I fondly hold on to memories of our times spent together, right from the time you helped my mum look after us as babies, you cared and doted over us like your own. Your trips to India with Ninu and Uncle C was what we looked forward to. Every trip spent with you in Canada felt like a reunion with my mum, you spoilt me just like she would, the delicious spread of meals, the hours of long chats, the drive to meet up with J & family, our long drive to Niagra Falls with Ninu in the heavy rain telling Ninu to drive slow😊 and us both taking selfies together in the Boat at the Maid of the Mist in our blue raincoats. Was so much fun. You had a heart of gold, so warm, welcoming & generous to all. Your cheerful spirit and love for our Lord was so infectious and it left such a lasting impression. I also fondly remember how you’d sing ‘you are my sunshine’ to Tyler and he’d love it and blush and you would sing it over and over again enjoying watching him giggle. We thank you and Uncle Chris for your immense love, prayers and uplifting support in our time of need especially when mum was ill. Even though you lived miles away from us, you never made it feel that way; you were just one call away. And as Prema rightly mentioned, we’ll miss your ‘golly gees!’ Uncle Chris(Handsome) and you were so good together, and you brought love and life to every occassion. You’ll made it a point to be at every special celebration weddings, christenings & play an important part of the occasion by doing a reading at mass, to saying the grace before meal at Tyler’s christening. Thank you for always being there for us and even thinking of me through your illness. I can hear your voice so clearly call out to me ‘Mela’😊& so lovingly to Handsome , ‘Toper’ ‘ Honey ‘❤.I thank God for His precious gift of YOU. You are dearly loved and memories of you will forever be cherished. Rest well my dear Aunty E and continue to pray and watch over your loved ones. You were a beacon of joy and strength to me when I first came to Oman and eventually when I came to Canada to settle with my family. Your loving, caring ways won me a friend for life. The first time I met you, you sang “Nobody’s Child” for me, when you returned from school. I have never forgotten that moment. Since then you have raised your voice in song to praise Jesus, our Lord and King. Now you will listen to the voices of angels as you rest in the arms of Jesus! Rest well, sister-in-law! About 25 years ago, when we were just a young family, starting out in a new country, our paths crossed with Esther’s. She was angel for us, helping to care for 18 month old Zaneta. A chance meeting turned into a blessing as Esther & Chris entered our lives and in Ninu, Zan got a “big sister” too.
Because of Esther, Muscat became a place wih friends. Much later, Esther, Chris and Ninu were the reason we decided to move to Canada, and we know she was disappointed when we changed our mind. She not only opened her home to us, but she opened her generous heart to us too.
When we met in September 2019, at Ninu & Artur’s home, little did we know it would be the last time we saw her. And when I spoke to her in February, I could not have imagined that before the year was through, she would be home in the arms of her loving ABBA Father.
She came into our lives as a blessing, she and her family became our friends and touched our lives in a way words cannot explain.
Dearest Chris, Ninu & Artur, even as we share in your loss, we give thanks for the blessing Esther and your family have been for us. We trust her into the care of Our Father and know she is at home in his arms.
She was always a strong fighting spirit right until the end. We thank the lord for your eternal piece and rest and pray for the family to have strength through faith and healing…

I don’t think words are sufficient to express this loss, goodbyes are hard but having to say it to you is even harder. You are an incredible sister, loving mother – grandmother, perfect wife & fabulous aunt & the reason I’m saying ‘are’ and not ‘were’ is because I still know that if not physically, you will always be with us spiritually.
We are definitely going to miss your contagious smile which you wore on right up to our last few video calls till a few weeks back and never once complained once about the pain you were going through but in turn, always asked how we were doing & if all is ok with us.
Although you were oceans apart from your siblings, nephews & nieces you always made sure to be there when they needed. Whether it be a joyous occasion or a time of need like I remember you always being there for both my mom & dad when they were battling their illnesses.
Yes, we will miss you & your visits to India, some memories I distinctly remember as a child were waiting for the news from mom that your holiday to India is fixed and then coming to pick you from Bombay airport only to see you walk out from the gates in your fancy coat & trousers all decked up.” Some may say the only reason the airlines started business class was to match up to your standards of flying 😋” but then again that was you STYLISH BUT EVER SO HUMBLE.
Or the wait at the dining table for you to make your famous South Indian Sambar which we would eat for breakfast, lunch & dinner or let’s say till we scraped the bottom of the vessel.
I can go on with the memories of the time you spent with us however I’ll end with one memory etched in my mind so deep of which now I understand the importance.
Circa 1999/2000 was the first time in my life I ever saw my dad cry and the reason for that was your news of moving from Oman to Canada which meant reduced visits of yours to India & our home at the time I was really small and thought why?
It was only after growing up and spending time with you and around you that I understood how you managed to touch the lives of the people you loved in so many different ways just by being your natural self always caring, kind, loving looking out for others needs even before your own that’s when I got the answer to the why!!!
You are now with Jesus at rest and free from all pain!!

The sad news of the passing away of our dear friend Esther is not only a devastating blow to the family but a painful loss to her friends particularly many of whom were very closely associated with her in the charismatic world. She was a loyal and unswerving witness to the love of our Lord and she willingly gave up her earthly battle to cancer to claim the crown of eternal life in heaven. For those of us who were blessed to have met and worked with her in the prayer ministry, she leaves behind a big void and beautiful memories. Dear Esther, you have been a loving and caring sister-in-law to us. At many a time a memory sneaks out of our eyes and rolls down our cheek. I first met Esther in the room where Lectors gather to get ready to read. Right there, I found her friendly with a nice smile so we became friends.
Later, I joined the church Prayer group. I really enjoyed the prayers, the singing and the Bible readings.
Unfortunately I had to stop to take care of some situations.
Lately, I received a message that Esther was seriously sick so, I started to pray for her to get well soon.
Suddenly, I got a shocking message that she has passed peacefully at her home. This is sad and only God knows why such things happen but Ester has been welcomed already by God in His Eternal Life.
May God guard Chris and rest of family in their going outs and their coming ins now and forever in the name of Jesus.

TRIBUTE TO ESTHER
I first met Esther as a Lector in the room where Lectors meet to prepare to read God’s message. She welcomed me with a nice smile and we became friends tight there. Whenever I saw her , she always gave me a comfortable nice smile and I returned back the same.
Because of her, I joined the Prayer Group. I enjoyed the meeting so much. Her devotion there was outstanding as a leader when we sang, prayed and learnt from Bible reading, but I had to stop cause of some situations that I couldn’t over look.
Lately I received a message about Esther very sick and started to pray for her speedy recovery. Suddenly I received a sad message of her passing. It was a shock to hear that. It is very sad indeed but though we don’t understand why such things happen, it’s only God who knows why. So I render my deepest and sincere condolences to you Chris and rest of family.
May God guard your going out and coming in now forever in the name of Jesus.
Esther has been already received in God’s Hands in His Eternal Life.

When I came back we worked in the same office sitting opposite each other and cracking jokes whenever free. I put my head down and pray for your soul to rest in peace. Chandran.

It is so painful to put in words the emotions we are going through. Esther you were dear to our hearts, our association with you began when we first attended the FPG Friday meeting way back in 2016. I still remember and cherish the handmade welcome souvenir you gave my family. We grew fond of each other due to our passion to sing for Christ. Over the years I learnt a lot from you, your faith and your love for God was exemplary. You were a true disciple. Rest in peace friend until we meet again. The world lost an angel whilst the heaven rejoices to welcome one home. Adieus and RIP.

It is hard to imagine that we will never hear your cheerful voice and beautiful smile.
Our time spent at Family Prayer Mission will remain engraved in our hearts.
Your witness to Jesus, sharing of the Word of God, praise and worship ministry is a testimony of your unwavering love and trust for our Lord, which you demonstrated to the very end.

Dear Vanessa, Artur and family. Our condolences on your great loss. Mum has left behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories for you and her grandchildren. Cherish those memories and hold on to them especially when your grief overwhelms you. You and your dad worked wonderfully together to help mum find some comfort as she fought her battle and carried her heavy cross.

We are all saddened on hearing the news of Esther’s passing away. The truth is – no matter how old we grow, losing life’s companion is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. I have no idea as to how to put this in words, but this loss is certainly big for all of us and you & Vanessa in particular. The pain of losing someone close can never be compensated (by words) no matter what.
Christopher, things can’t be controlled nor can life, as we all know the circle of life is in God’s hand. It is in times like this, that our faith is put to the test. Please stay strong; understand that our loved ones never leave our side, even though death does us part. We know that we must accept her passing and give thanks to God Almighty for the wonderful life she lived and shared with us. As sad as it will be, we will always have the memory of her, to hold in our hearts.
Esther was a wonderful person and a great human being. She always made people comfortable and happy around her. Both of you complemented each other in many ways. No one, who visited her, ever returned without being fed by her affectionate words and scrumptious meals.
I cannot thank God enough for the delightful and memorable times we spent with her (and you’ll) right from our childhood days. Irrespective of what she was going through, she always wore a smile which was warm and welcoming to everyone. God Bless her Soul and Grant her Eternal Peace in abode of Jesus Christ where we all gonna’ meet one day.
The Bible reminds us that “Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted.” We all pray that this will be especially true for you and Vanessa and all the family, as we mourn her loss. I pray that God Almighty grants strength to see us through this testing time and courage to carry on with life. May His Holy Angels surround you and comfort you. May you feel the love of Yahweh and experience His peace in this time of grief. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Vanessa, Arthur and the children.

Esther’s simplicity, loving and caring ways, empathy towards family members and friends, endeared her to just about everyone she interacted with. She was very special to the Mendonca’s, sharing a very special bond with my mother, Josephine.
By her deep devotion to God and Mother Mary, Esther was able to find a remarkable inner strength to overcome numerous obstacles and hardship factors encountered during her lifetime. We pray that her soul rests in God’s eternal peace, now that she is in her heavenly home, safe in the arms of the Lord.

Esther & Chris… truly God’s instruments in our lives…! They brought me to Muscat in 1993… and that began my journey with the Lord. Had my first encounter with the Holy Spirit at the ‘Life in the Spirit’ held by the MIPC. From there on, Esther guided me spiritually and cared for me like a mother. Made sure she would cook & pack food over every weekend in my bachelor days. Encouraged me in tensed moments and was always ready to listen when I needed. I looked forward to every weekend as they would pick me up and take me home for the weekends. And this continued after our marriage too, awesome family times with cherished memories and Praise & Worship gatherings. And brings to mind a vivid memory of Esther singing “In the name of Jesus we have the victory” so filled with enthusiasm… Praise God we were able to sing it for her very recently reminiscing the past.
So many treasured moments… of which one to recall is the day, Daniel was born… we were all overjoyed and then they told us he had baby jaundice. We went straight to their home and then on, every morning Esther woke up early, took Daniel off our bed straight into the sunlight and his recovery was quick. Two months of warmth and love and then they moved on to settle in Canada in 1997. But, although far we were always close. She always commended Daniel and Dominica on all their achievements and encouraging them till most recent.
We prayed but our Lord knew best and chose to lift Esther into His arms of peace and serenity.
John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Esther listened to God’s voice.
Our loving Chris, Ninu, Artur, Joanna, Gabriela and Natalia…May the hope of heaven give you peace and the tender touch of the Father bring you comfort. Although its difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back at the beautiful memories comfort your tomorrow.

Dearest Esther,
My earliest memory of you was in school, when you sang “How much is that doggy in the window” and won a prize.
After that we met in Muscat and later on we connected again when we moved to Canada.
Our family has fond memories of our visits to each other’s homes.
You were always a warm, loving, kind, welcoming and prayerful person. Your faith was tremendous and you had no fear of professing it.
Thank you Esther for being my friend.
My biggest regret is not visiting you when you were ill. You are now in heaven. Enjoy your rest and being pain free.

We were saddened to hear the news that our loving Esther passed away. She was a wonderful friend and a genunine soul. I remember the countless times we used to laugh in the car as we went for drives after midnight Mass on Christmas eve during the times that I lived in the neighbourhood. I also remember your generosity when I needed a place to stay between homes. During one of those days, I recall one occasion where Esther would lovingly tease Chris as he was trying to show her some tips on the computer software. One could easily tell how much Esther loved Chris and he, her.
At this time, we can only offer our words of comfort to you and we know that she is in Our Lord’s arms, resting in peace. Please accept our sincere condolences and may Jesus grant you strength to carry this monumental loss.
