elevated CEqCG Obituary
On October 4, 2022, heaven gained a feisty, little red-headed angel. After a wonderful and full life, Evelyn passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital. She leaves behind her sister, Sister Teresita McInally, and her cousins Joseph Walsh (Diane) and Marie Harris (Don). She was a dear aunt to Kathleen, Tom and Joanne as well as Billy. She was loved and cared for by so many especially Monique & Luc Voorn, Jeannine & Bill Traynor, Viola Nikkila & Vinnie Kiplanis, Diane & Joseph Walsh, Sister Teresita, Liz, Michael & Patrick Traynor and families, Mary & Peter Faux, Tulsie at the front desk of her condo, her PSW Joy(ce) Egworefa and so many other dear friends. Evelyn was a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton for 25 years. She was an elementary teacher and principal and her students loved her. She continued her teaching career at St. Dunstan’s in Toronto. During her 94 years Evelyn touched so many lives with her gentle loving spirit. Thank you especially to Drs. Christopher Morgan and John Hopkins for their excellent care. For those who wish, donations in memory of Evelyn can be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation.

MARJORIE & MICHAEL BLAKE
Words are not enough for this 70s Kindergarten teacher at St. Dunstan’s School in Toronto , who taught my son Michael at age 4 years in Junior Kindergarten , and had him (after a short while) promoted to Kindergarten in the AM and Grade 1 in the PM, since he was already an avid reader. Although l wanted him to get more socialization in Kindergarten, Miss McInally , along with the then Principal Sister Edwards insisted on this decision.
Thanks to Miss McInally whose guidance and insight at this early age created the path on which Michael now exists. Michael is in his 9th year as an actor at Stratford’s FESTIVAL, AVON, and TOM PATTERSON THEATRES. As well, he has worked in different parts of the country in FILM/TV.
MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.

You were the best PSW she could have had. Thank you for being in her life.
Loved by students and staff, Evelyn’s positive energy and spirit was always appreciated. I can still hear her infectious laugh all the way down the hallway. Rest in Peace, Evelyn!
Hi Rod,
Thank you for your lovely comment about our feisty little Red Head.
So wonderful to hear from you.
She was one of a kind, Evelyn! I shall miss her zest for life and cheeky sense of humour. May you rest in peace, Evy.
Thank you Marie. She had such a positive attitude and was so quick witted. Definitely miss her. xoxo
Evelyn was an easy going soul, happy to see you and enjoy conversation, laughter and a glass of wine. Whether watching game shows, reading on the balcony or playing cards, her company was delightful. Ev will leave a noticeable absence in our lives. We miss you, Ev, always will. Rest now in peace.
Thank you Vi and Vinnie. We are definitely missing our little Red Head.
Alex and I will miss you. You helped us when he was in your kindergarten class at St. Dunstan’s. You got such a laughter his accent. “Teachaw may I have more sand please” . When you retired you watched him
McDonald’s where everyone thought you were his gran, sunday dinners, Killarney. Sleeping over you laughed when went to see you, slid open your eye and asked if you were awake yet. I remember you dryly saying I am now. The angels better know that you ARE A Card shark.love you and miss you
Thank you Irene and Alex. She did so much for so many in her little quiet way. And she loved you Alex.
Evelyn and I shared many great years as teachers at St Dunstan’s. She was fun and full of joy and loved by all the children. We had Christmas concerts, play days and a lot of fun. We went to lunches and dinners with all the teachers. We shared our lives. I will remember her always.
Rest in peace, dear Eveyln.
Sorry I can’t attend the service.
Thank you Erica. I remember her speaking of you. She enjoyed her years with you and the rest of the staff.
Evelyn, your fun loving spirit always lit up the room. I’m grateful for the times we had and the laughter we shared. Ev, you were one of a kind ❤️
So very sorry for the loss of Evelyn. Such a lovely lady. Always with a smile, a laugh, and a positive attitude. We very much enjoyed talking to her whenever we saw her. Evelyn will be missed by all who knew her.
Dear Sister Teresita
Our condolences on the passing of your sister Evelyn.
When I think of Evelyn, I see her beautiful smile. She was a sweetheart and a big part of the Traynor family. Our Grandchildren called her Auntie Evelyn. She always remembered them on their birthdays and at Christmas.
With a twinkle in her eye she loved to refer to Bill as her older brother. Because Evelyn always looked so young, a waiter once asked if Bill was her older brother.
Bill was not impressed!!
Evelyn had a sharp mind and could recall events that happened in the past when no one else could remember. In her later years Ev had a number of medical issues and was often in pain. She never complained; but continued to enjoy life.
Dearest Evelyn, I will miss you so much. But I am so thankful that you came into our lives.
Rest In Peace dear friend.
