elevated RHQsH It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Filomena Maria Bertão Ornelas, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 84. Surrounded in the loving arms of her family, mãe passed away peacefully.

elevated RHQsH Family was always Filomena’s greatest priority and the centre of her life. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and in keeping her family close. She was the devoted wife of the late Francisco Ornelas, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. A loving mother, she will be dearly missed by her children Francisco (Vesna), Mary (Paul), David (Ness), Arminda (August), and Filomena (Stephen).

elevated RHQsH Filomena was a cherished Ava (grandmother) to Amelia (Ian), Francisco Daniel (Elya), Kelly-Ann (Nick), Jennifer, Mark (Jackie), Jordan, Emma, Hannah, Alessandra, Adrianna, Daniela, Isabella, Asa, and Ella, and a proud Bisava (great-grandmother) to Grace, Lily, Nolan, Caterina, Francisco, Giacinto, Benjamin, Cole, Aubrey, Aiden, Madison, and Anastasia. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on through the generations she so tenderly nurtured.

elevated RHQsH Family and friends will be received at Assumption Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral and Burial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, with interment to follow.
