elevated T3DqG It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Franca Pantaleo (nee Lerario) on January 21, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 87. Born on January 3, 1938 in Acquaviva delle Fonti, Bari, Italy to parents Carlo and Filomena. Loving wife of Sam for 65 years of marriage. Beloved mother of Nick (Zdeni), Mary and Mina. Proud Nonna of Carina (Tom) and Natalie. Franca will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Franca Pantaleo can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
Unica, meravigliosa, splendida, dolce, cara zia Franca. Quate gioie vissute. Quanti ricordi. Ci hai dato amore. Ci hai voluto sempre tanto bene.

No es fácil aceptar esta partida, más aun considerando el gran amor y unión que ha caracterizado el seno de vuestra linda familia.
Desde que ka conocí sentí esa energía de amor y dulzura que emanaba de su corazón y de su Alma y su trato amoroso y cariñoso me hacia sentir radiante y feliz.

You’re all in my thoughts and prayers
Franca was not only a wonderful and caring person, she was a second Mother. Sixty years ago or so, my mother met Franca when Nick and Peter started school at St . Roberts. From there, a budding friendship that turned into family began. Deb and I grew up with Mary and Mina and I spent many a summers in the Pantaleo home where Franca and Sam treated me like one of their own. Memories I will always cherish.
I was fortunate enough to see and sit with Franca a few weeks ago and tell her what she meant to me and reminisced about times on Renier Road, Land of the Giants and she reminded me of all the nice things I broke at her home–we both laughed.
Franca I will miss you and the laughs we had and the meals you cooked.
Mary and Mina, you are exceptional daughters who care for your parents in ways other cannot relate. Nick, you are not only a son, but a man that was present in the days and hours that mattered most.

I have fond memories of your family as a child and growing up because you were all such an integral part of my late Zia Luciana and late Zio Rino’s lives.

We loved your mother like family, not merely a neighbor. It was such a joy and comfort to visit with her each time we returned to Toronto to visit our own family. They were so much entwined, and my 98-year-old mother, especially, has lost her BEST friend. Our sadness is deep. Sending much love and many condolences to you all, from California.
Sending big hugs from Long Island. Wishing we could be with all of you during this difficult time. We were so shocked and so sorry to hear the news about Zia Franca. We have such loving and wonderful memories of her and Uncle Sam. We’re so very thankful we were able to spend those days with you guys when we visited, which I can’t believe is 10 years ago now. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Hoping the beautiful memories you have will help you through these difficult days.
I am writing this condolence message with an extremely broken and heavy heart. Franca was my second mom and can’t believe she is no longer here with us. She was always so happy and sweet and I will our visits and phone calls. I am glad that I had a visit with her 3 weeks ago. Franca you will always hold a very special place in my heart. You were the best cook and baker and made the best taralli. I love you always and forever and you will always be my “pescha veccehia”. You are now an angel with your sisters and my mom that loved you. Rest in peace. Love you Debby ❤️❤️

I’m so sorry about the loss of Auntie Franca. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and carried herself with such grace and elegance. I have such fond memories of your mom growing up and into adulthood especially when the families got together. My heart goes out to you all.
