elevated TrrJ0 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Jager, at the age of 80 on Friday, August 12, 2022. Devoted wife of Alojz Jager for 61 years. Beloved mother to Vesna (Paul) and Helen (Louie). Cherished “staramama” (grandmother) to Siena and Iris.
elevated TrrJ0 Frances was born on March 29, 1942, in Ljubljana, Slovenija. Frances emigrated to Toronto in 1967 with her husband Alojz and daughter Vesna. Though many miles separated her from her mother, father, brothers, and sisters, they always remained close to her heart. She is predeceased by her parents, Viktor and Justina Grm, and her brothers, Jože, Tone, and Ivan. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Marica, Ančka, and Slavka.
elevated TrrJ0 Frances worked hard throughout her lifetime to care for and support her family. She was employed in the Dietary Department of Central Hospital in downtown Toronto for 30 years, preparing and delivering meal trays to hospital patients as well as the residents of the adjacent long term care facility.
elevated TrrJ0 Frances was a gentle soul with a kind and generous nature. Her loving memory will live in our hearts always.
elevated TrrJ0 A special thank you to all the staff at Bendale Acres who cared for Frances over the last 12 years.
Teta’s face would light up when she saw you. She always gave a warm welcoming hug, and she always made sure you were well fed.
I remember being in the car with her when we were lost following the funeral procession for Staramama’s interment. She prayed the rosary, and we laughed, and eventually found our way to Holy Cross Cemetery.
Rest in Peace Teta Fanne. You are loved.
