First Christmas in Heaven
by Wanda Bencke
I see the countless Christmas Trees
Around the world below
With tiny lights
Like heaven’s stars
Reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular
Please wipe away that tear
For I am spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can’t compare
With the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you
The joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description
To hear the angels sing
I know how much you miss me
I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away
We really aren’t apart
So be happy for me dear ones
You know I hold you dear
And be glad I’m spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year
I send you each a special gift
From my heavenly home above
I send you each a memory of My undying love
After all “love” is the gift
More precious than pure gold
It was always most important
In the stories Jesus told
Please love and keep each other
As my Father said to do
For I can’t count the blessing
Or love he has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas
And wipe away that tear
Remember I am spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year
Dear Palma Family;
We first met at the hockey arena. Our excited children on the ice, Mother’s in the stands, Father’s on the bench coaching and Frank standing all by himself so he could quietly enjoy and assess the game. Rolling his eyes at my loud voice and always saying it was too loud over there.
At social events we always found each other to sit beside. We would laugh at things only the two of us understood. We would laugh harder when we would hear Phyllis say,“Oh Frank”.
Then life took play, aging parents, health issues, growing children and just an interest in each other’s lives. Our friendship continued even after the kids grew up. We met at weddings and special celebrations. Our friendship continued like no time had passed. The kids still play hockey together, which to me shows a big respect for each other that started when they were nine years old! Phyllis with a clip board and taking notes during team meetings. She quickly became involved in our team family. A team that branched out into long lasting friendships.
We watched each other’s kids grow up and start their own families. Frank was always the softy, tears quickly flowed down his cheek. His family and friends meant so much to him.
Phyllis, your family means the world to me, we have come so far, always supporting one another. I can’t imagine what you are feeling right now. I’m always here for you
Frank was a big part in all our lives. May he Rest in peace and now be surrounded by his family that passed before him. I will miss my friend and his will to fight. His strength continued for no other reason to witness more life with his family and especially his grandchildren. Sometimes by far but the greatest medicine he needed. He was the proudest Grandfather.
Always
Rita and Dale Spiteri
