Dear Suzanne,
Very sad news to hear about the passing of your father.
The passing of those we love is an extremely personal experience. But the passing of a parent is perhaps the most difficult of all.
Take good care of yourself during this difficult time.
My thoughts and love are with you.
Laurence

Dearest Betty and Suzanne,
We were very saddened to hear the news that Francis’ passed this morning. The love and friendship we shared over the many years and Memories of happier and trying days, came flashing to mind!
The 1971 New Year’s party at your place when the KGI was closed because of the Coup. Still have photographs of the party!
I remember that it was Francis who heard the news of the Coup on BBC that early morning on Jan 25th 1971 and called me immediately because he knew that I was scheduled to leave that morning to go to Western Uganda on Safari for the next week. Thank God! I immediately cancelled my safari!
The time when he brought roses for Edna from Nairobi – he returned to Kampala on our wedding anniversary – and was escorted by armed Army guys, in your car, from the Uganda border to the Kampala Police station; and the efforts to get him and Suzanne released from custody!
And many more. Francis was always there at our hockey and cricket matches to cheer us on.
And happy memories here in Toronto, with Tom, Lucy and the family.
We know that Francis is now in peace with the Lord and in the company of all family and friends who predeceased him. May his soul and all their souls enjoy eternal rest and peace, until we all meet up again.
Love and hugs to you both, and all the family.
Our deep sympathies,
Edna and Aloysius.
Dear Suzanne,
Our thoughts are with you and Betty during this time.

So sorry Suzanne to hear of the passing of your dad. We remember Francis with great affection. He was always generous with his time when we came to Toronto and he had a terrific sense of humour.

My condolences Betty and Suzanne. Thank you so much for letting me know of Francis passing. I will miss him. He was very thoughtful to me and my family. I still have the 21 dollars he gave me on my 21st birthday. I have very fond memories that I will cherish for ever.
Francis use to put a cup of water on my desk at night because I always said it was too dry in the office. I never knew who was doing it until years after he retired and he told me. He was always thinking of others.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Betty & Suzanne
My deepest Sympathies on the passing of Francis at this ripe old age. We enjoyed his friendship and he was a regular at our important cricket games and often looked after the catering with pride of the Goan team when we won the Quadrangular & Pentangular tournaments.
He was good company at the G.I. with his jokes and used to take us to his house after our cessions at the club. He had a good circle of friends and you, Betty, was there for support.
May the Lord grand Francis Eternal Rest after his long inning.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
God Bless.
Thanks for your message of condolence. Francis used to love watching you all play on the Cricket and hockey field.
Betty and Suzanne
