elevated yCYgQ It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that his family announce the passing of Frank Bittner on September 3rd, 2025 at the age of 79, just shy of his 80th birthday on October 3rd.He was surrounded by his devoted family with words of comfort and love as he took his final breath.
elevated yCYgQ Frank was the beloved husband of Cornelia, caring and proud father of James (Amanda), and playful companion of Bennie. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Katarina Bittner, and sister Mary.
elevated yCYgQ Frank was a devoted and caring husband, father, mentor, provider, and kind friend. He worked hard all of his life to both enjoy and share the fruits of his labour.
elevated yCYgQ When Frank graduated from Waterloo University with a degree in Civil Engineering, he became a valuable employee of Canron Inc. where he collaborated in the designing of the CN tower, namely the donut shape, and the former CP hanger at the Pearson International Airport. Eventually, the balance of his working career was spent as an employee of OPG helping with the construction of Darlington Nuclear Plant.
elevated yCYgQ Upon retirement he was able to pursue his hobbies in full. He had a long bucket list too numerous to list. He was especially avid about his car clubs (PCA, AMOC), watching Formula 1 racing, travelling, reading about AI, and tinkering around the house – a wife’s dream husband come true.
elevated yCYgQ Frank was a family man, and his favorite past time was being with his loving family and friends, at home or at the cottage, and sharing past and present stories while having a drink or two.
elevated yCYgQ After a brave and stoic battle with cancer, we know that Frank is now resting peacefully, likely with a fine scotch in hand.
elevated yCYgQ Frank’s memory and way of life will always be lovingly honoured and cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
elevated yCYgQ In Lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Good Shepherd Toronto
I have fond memories of Frank from drives and pub nights with the Aston Martin owners club, he was a man of nobility and loved his car. He will be dearly missed. My thoughts and wishes of love are with his family.

The note of Frank’s passing is a surprise as our meetings were always lively and his demeanor charming.
I always looked forward to bantering with him about your Apsley cottage and the frustrating fun he had with you and James there. Fixing this, repairing that. Of course our Aston drives were always memorable …
He always amazed me with his incredible history of accomplishments. And said with quiet humility.
We will miss Frank and wish i could give you all a hug at this sad time. Frank will always be with us.

Frank was such a cherished friend and cottage neighbour. We always enjoyed his stories about travel, cars and his engineering feats. His love and devotion to family was apparent to everyone who knew him, as was his fighting spirit, especially over the past few months. He will be deeply missed.

I miss my dear friend and close neighbor. We shared so much in common-both proud graduates of Waterloo University and both engineers. I will cherish our trip together where we explored Peru, stood in awe at Machu Picchu and journeyed deep into the Amazon. Those moments were filled with laughter, curiosity and a sense of wonder that I will always carry with me. I miss you my friend.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Frank. For the short period that I had known him, I was impressed by his straightforwardness, honesty, and ability to tackle any problems thrown his way with a smile on his face. This was especially the case even during his last final days. He will be sadly missed as I had enjoyed working with him.
