elevated 0U80a Peacefully departed this life at home, surrounded by his family, in his remarkable 97th year.

elevated 0U80a Born to Maria Pistrin and Giovanni Salvador in Teor, Italy, his migration to Canada marked the genesis of a life that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

elevated 0U80a A beacon of strength and love, Galliano became the cornerstone for his loving cousins, Teresa Catherine Salvador, and the late Rita Regina Salvador. His absence leaves a chasm only partially filled by memories—a testament to his irreplaceable presence.

elevated 0U80a Reunited in eternal peace with his siblings Dionisio, Attilio, Glauco (Giovanna), and brother-in-law Lionello Rocco, Galliano is survived by his beloved sister Anna, along with sisters-in-law Paola and Nancy. A cherished uncle to Maria, Franca, Anna, Nella, the late Giacomo, Virginia, Gabriella, Aristide, John, Gina, Jessica, and Christian—his legacy lives on through their fond memories and enduring love.

elevated 0U80a Galliano’s life brimmed with purpose and passion. His tenure at Atlas Engineering fueled his love for welding and metalwork, where he unleashed his innate creativity. A perpetual craftsman, his hands were always busy with unique projects, a testament to his “maker” spirit. Not one to shy away from life’s joys, his social calendar was abuzz with bowling leagues and golf outings, even into his early 90s. His heart swelled with pride for his Friulano heritage, embracing its culture and traditions with unwavering devotion.

elevated 0U80a A man of quiet strength and unwavering stoicism, Galliano will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were privileged to share in his life’s journey.

elevated 0U80a Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Road East Thornhill, Ontario). The Funeral Mass to follow in the Chapel of Saint Joseph which is within Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. To attend the mass virtually, a livestream link is available through the Funeral Homes website. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill, Ontario).

elevated 0U80a The family is grateful for the care and kindness extended to him by the nursing and PSW staff at Chartwell Guildwood Retirement Home. In addition, many thanks to Cindy and Alicia at SCHC Palliative Community Team for hastily moving mountains and for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Galliano may be made to Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities.
