It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giovanni Bucci on March 31, 2024 at the age of 87.
elevated 2NJju He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Grace Bucci. His children Anna, Anthony (Shannon), Dianne (Les) and Claudia (Nick). He was a proud Nonno to his grandchildren Nicole, Christopher (Amanda), Brittany, Marcus (Sarah), Chiara and Matteo and bis nonno to his great grandson Theodore.
elevated 2NJju Born in Sessano del Molise, Italy in 1937, Giovanni immigrated to Toronto, Canada with his parents Felice and Anna in 1953.
elevated 2NJju His passion for sewing, which he learned at a very young age and determination enabled him to open his own business, JB Cleaners & Tailors at the age of 25. In 1977, he opened Giovanni of Italy Custom Tailoring, where he would eventually meet his future wife, Grace. Together they relocated the business to Scollard St and with their hard work and dedication it became the most successful Tailoring Shop in the Yorkville area.
elevated 2NJju Giovanni’s passions in life were Tailoring, Carpentry, Cars, Music and Birds. His greatest passion though, was his family.
elevated 2NJju He fought a long battle with heart disease and in the end his heart could not sustain his life anymore.
elevated 2NJju Giovanni will be deeply missed but he has left us with many cherished memories.
elevated 2NJju In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Dear Grace and family, Michael joins me in offering our deepest sympathy on the death of your dear husband and father. I have fond memories of his warm smile and caring nature. He was so proud of his family and took great pleasure in sharing his pride and joy with me on many occasions. John and I are heart broken at Giovanni’s passing. We have known your family since 1981 and watched both the family and business grow and prosper. Even though John became very successful he never forgot his roots. He was truly a humble yet noble gentleman.
