elevated KTBn5 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father Giovanni Di Monte, who passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the age of 97.
Giovanni was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Caramanico Terme, PE, Italy on January 28, 1928. He immigrated to Canada in 1951, and worked diligently his whole life. He taught us honour, respect, honesty, and hard work. He was always smiling and ready to offer a drink and a helping hand to anyone in need. He found joy in his family, his grandchildren, tending to his garden and his wine-making. He was a loyal man with unwavering integrity.
Giovanni is survived by his wife, Teresa (De Angelis), his children Danny (Patty), Mario (Charlene), Rossella (Donato) and grandchildren John, Daniel, Michael, David (Sara), Christian, Julia, and Dillon.
We love you Papa!
Dear Teresa, Danny, Mario, and Rose,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Giovanni was such a kind and loving man, and I’ll always remember him from our childhood. He had a quiet strength and a big heart. I still smile thinking about the time Rose and I would come home late — he was upset, gave us a little lecture, and that was it. You could tell it came from a place of love and care.
I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and sending love and strength during this difficult time.
May he rest in peace.
With love,
Gina and Mike.
Dear Di Monte family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your Dad lived a long and meaningful life. He and your Mom had many, many happy years together and built a family centered around family. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. We pray that time will lessen the sorrow and that all the great memories will give you some peace.
Cara Teresa & Family, so very sorry to hear this news. For the last 42 years our family has lived behind your family and our dads were great gardeners and friends over the fence. Our moms always talked and were friends as well. It’s hard to say goodbye but what a long life he has had. May he rest in peace and may the sweet memories help you all during the difficult days. Condolences from all of us. Loreta, the late Vincenzo, Enzo, Connie & Maria & Vito and our kids.
