elevated YYW52 Obituary

elevated YYW52 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giovanni Girimonte, who left us peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Brampton, Ontario, after a courageous battle, surrounded by the love of his family. Giovanni was born on July 12, 1940, in Mangone, Cosenza, Italy, and his life was a testament to devotion, hard work, and unconditional love for his family.

elevated YYW52 Beloved husband of Nella, his loving wife and love for 60 wonderful years. Cherished father of Chiarina (Ernesto) and Claudio (Marisa), Giovanni’s greatest pride was his family. He adored his grandchildren Raffaella (Christian), Nella (Mario), Lucas, and Dante, who brought him endless joy and laughter. His face would light up whenever they were near, and his gentle wisdom and warmth will forever live in their hearts.

elevated YYW52 Giovanni is survived by his loving brothers Stefano (Frances) and Alfredo (Lina), and is predeceased by his dear siblings Adalina (Michele), Emma (Domenico), Lena (Ettero), and Ernesto. He is also fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, his many nieces and nephews both here in Canada and in Italy, and by extended family and friends who held a special place in his heart.

elevated YYW52 Giovanni was a man of many talents and simple pleasures. Known affectionately as “Mr. Fix It,” there was nothing he couldn’t repair, restore, or make better. He took great pride in his home and garden. Giovanni found joy in continuing the traditions he grew up with in Italy—making homemade wine, tomato sauce, and salami were yearly labors of love that kept his heritage alive and brought the family together.

elevated YYW52 Giovanni was a hardworking man who approached everything he did with courage and perseverance. He wasn’t afraid to try new things and always gave his best, no matter the task. He believed deeply in honesty and trust—his handshake was his word, a simple gesture that spoke volumes about his character and integrity.

elevated YYW52 An outdoorsman at heart, Giovanni loved fishing and hunting, often sharing stories and laughter on his many hunting trips with friends and family. His resourcefulness, quiet strength, and sense of humor made him a cherished companion to all who knew him.

elevated YYW52 Throughout his illness, Giovanni showed remarkable courage and grace. He never complained, always putting the comfort of others before his own. His resilience and steadfast spirit were an inspiration to everyone around him.

elevated YYW52 Giovanni’s legacy is one of love, faith, family, hard work, and devotion. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

elevated YYW52 In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honour Giovanni by making a donation to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. He was deeply grateful for the care he received there.

elevated YYW52 Riposa in pace, Giovanni. Your love, strength, and integrity will guide us forever.
