elevated xlF0B       Born October 24th 1922 in a small farming town by the Alps in northern Italy Giuditta grew up learning that kindness, dancing and art were at the centre of her family’s soul. Falling in love with the most handsome boy in town she sealed her fate to follow him with their two children to Canada in the early 1950s. Through hardships they fought to give their children the best life they could, working long hard hours in a foreign land in harsh conditions, but they never gave up. Her daughter and son grew up gaining that kindness that Giuditta radiated. But life can sometimes be unkind and the worst thing imaginable for a parent struck, at the young age of 26 her son Aldo’s life ended and he took a piece of her heart that could never be replaced. A few short years later her daughter gave her life with life and becoming a grandparent brought back a meaning for her that she never lost even in her last days. Even through losing her husband 10 years ago she was a rock for us all.

elevated xlF0B She was always there. She was always love. She would always put her family above her.

elevated xlF0B    In her retirement she found art again and filled all our lives with a million beautiful pictures of flowers. Always a camera or pencil in her hand. She wrote letters every day, usually late into the night, that travelled the globe to reach the myriad of people she cared for, connecting us all. Making everyone feel special that she thought of them. Her garden was always overflowing and her greenthumb will never be outmatched. Quiet and demure with a wicked sense of humor she was beautiful. She took things slow and savored the sweet things, especially cake!

elevated xlF0B    We all honestly thought she would live forever and in our hearts she will. At 96 she had a full life that had love and heartache but most importantly she left a legacy of kindness that will be passed on. She always dreamed fondly of Cordenons, the town she grew up in. That was her last memory. She dreamed of her home where her father built a raised area outside and they would set up the gramophone and dance. How much joy that brought her. Dancing. In her words “it’s not a sin to dance, it’s a sin not to dance”. I so I urge you all to learn a few important lessons from her life. Spread kindness, find your passion, love the people around you fiercely and most importantly dance!

elevated xlF0B    Her last days were at a beautiful home surrounded by loved ones. She died in peace the morning of January 25th 2019 with dignity, comfort and she was never alone, held to her last breath by her daughter Nadia. Her room faced a beautiful garden that she would have loved to have painted, covered in a pink hand made quilt with flowers. If there is karma in the world this was it paying her back. She couldn’t have had a better end and we are so eternally grateful. Her grandchildren Lisa, David and wife Vicki, daughter Nadia and her son in law Norman talked about the joy she brought them with tears and smiles. She will soon rest forever next to her son and husband connecting those missing pieces of her heart.

elevated xlF0B    We would all urge you to consider in lieu of flowers, only if you have the means, considering making a donation to The Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill so other families can share a similar beautiful passing with the people that mean the most to them. They have given us so much peace and time to just love Giuditta in her last days that we could never repay.
