elevated AfOIY Obituary

elevated AfOIY It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppe “Joe” Licitra on September 12, 2026, at his home in Aurora, Ontario, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

elevated AfOIY Joe was the beloved husband of Josie Licitra, his wife and life partner, whose love and care remained steadfast throughout his illness.

elevated AfOIY He is survived by his loving wife, Josie; his daughters, Teresa (Yuce), Lisa (Sam), and Christina (Chris); and his seven grandchildren, Alyssandra, Michael, Nicholas, Ava, Thomas, Olivia, and Nico.

elevated AfOIY Joe was predeceased by his beloved father, Angelo, and his parents-in-law, Michele and Mary Adamo, who embraced and loved Joe as their own. He is survived by his dear mother, Teresa; his sisters, Joanne (the late Vito) and Bessie (Luciano); as well as his extended family.

elevated AfOIY Joe will be remembered as a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, and through the family and memories he leaves behind. His story will continue through his daughters and grandchildren, and through all those who knew and loved him over the course of his life.

elevated AfOIY While dementia became part of Joe’s journey, it will never define his life. Throughout his illness, he was surrounded by the devoted care of Josie, together with the kindness and compassion of Amy, Carol, Angela, Elsa, and Juliet, his personal care workers, who cared for him each day and became an important part of his circle of care. Their dedication brought Joe comfort and dignity and will remain deeply appreciated by his family.

elevated AfOIY The family is sincerely grateful for the kindness, prayers, condolences, and support extended to them during this difficult time.

elevated AfOIY In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations in Joe’s memory be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), in support of research and families affected by frontotemporal dementia.
