Everyone loved her instantaneously and she never had a shortage of friends who wanted to spend time with her. Gloria grew up full of joy, involved in many activities such as skating and skiing, dance, and piano. She has been to so many parts of the world enjoying the beauty and the languages of these countries.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences Manuela. I was so heartbroken to learn of Gloria’s passing. I know how very proud you were of her. I’m praying that you and your family may find a way to heal. Please know we are all thinking of you. God bless you and your family.
Paul
We share in your grief over Gloria’s sudden passing. We too are parents and by the grace of God have not had to face the challenges that have been thrust upon you. My wife and I did not personally know your family or this lovely young lady but still we have connected. You see our daughter is an RN in Vancouver. She and a friend were skiing at Whistler last Friday and witnessed this tragedy. They were immediately on scene to help Gloria and performed CPR until Ski Patrol arrived. They watched as she was flown off the hill. They both have been struggling in their own ways over the past week trying to deal with Gloria’s passing. Our daughter intends to go to the scene of the accident tomorrow to say a prayer for Gloria, as a step to closure.
Our prayers are with you as you celebrate the life that Gloria lived.
Hi Brad, please feel free to give your daughter my email: carley.2000@hotmail.com. Myself and some of Gloria’s friends have been exchanging messages of support and love over the past week and if your daughter is ever in need of support, she can absolutely reach out.
I was so saddened to hear about what happened to such an amazing girl. The years I spent with Gloria at Queen’s were the most amazing years and I have so many great memories with her that I will cherish forever. We met the first day of second year in a group project surrounded by boys and we stuck together from day one. Since that day I came to learn that she is one of the most incredible friends and people I have ever met. We both worked internships in Toronto a few summers ago together and my favourite part of the week was going to sit somewhere outside and have sushi and rant about our jobs and gossip about everything. She was always such an amazing friend to me and was always there to listen and be supportive no matter what. From late nights on campus doing work together, she was always the first person to help if I needed it, and she was the most generous and kind person I’ve ever known. She is truly one of a kind and I can’t begin to imagine what your family is going through. I always knew how close your family was, and I want to express that I am thinking of you all. I will be thinking of you always, Gloria, and I will never forget how lucky I was to be friends with you. <3
With love,
Susie Dunn
Arben & Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever. Deepest condolences, Bill Cober
May you please contact me at 905-830-2566
I am Gloria’s father and in this sleeplessness night I am still asking questions to learn about the last moments of my daughter’s life.
Your humanity is immensely appreciated.
Gloria’s father, Arben.
Dear Mr Kodra and family,
We want to extend our deepest condolences. We are praying for you and your family’s comfort during this difficult time.
I am friends of Gloria’s friends Tiana and Skylar. I met her at Tiana’s sister’s birthday when we went out in Toronto. From the moment I met her she was such a fun-loving, positive and kind person. She was the type you can easily talk to and instantly become friends with. She was so kind she invited me to her house-warming party a couple weeks later but unfortunately I had an exam. When I met her I immediately wished I met her sooner as she lit up the room. My deepest condolences go out to your family.
Manuela I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.
My heartfelt condolence to you over the irreparable loss of your loving daughter. Praying that God will comfort you with his love during this sad time. We are here to share your grief for losing your loving daughter. When life is darkest God is closest.

We wanted to express our deepest sympathies to you, Arben, Manuela and Arbela, and share how much Gloria meant to us. Our years living with Gloria at university were some of the best of our lives. We will never forget the memories we made together, whether they were supporting each other through engineering classes, having girls’ nights with movies and facemasks, or dancing to songs in our living room. Ivona, Hannah and I cannot express how much we grew, learned, and shared with one another during those years, and how much that continues to mean to us.
Whatever the circumstance, it was hard to catch Gloria without a smile, her positivity and laughter lit up our house, and we could always count on her to lift our spirits. Even when her schedule was full, Gloria would prioritize our friendships and was up for any adventure. Multiple times a year, like Christmas, Valentine’s Day (Galentine’s Day) and St Patrick’s Day, Gloria would go out of her way to pick out/buy/put up decorations and make Kingston feel like home. This speaks to her generosity, which spilled over into all aspects of her life; we all remember asking Gloria for outfit advice (because she was so fashionable), and she’d always open her closet in case we wanted to borrow something.
It was always clear to us that Gloria was very close with you, (her family) by the way that she talked about you. She lived her life with a warmth and poise that made it clear she was confident in your love and support through everything.
We love you immensely, Gloria, and will carry our friendships with you for the rest of our lives. We’re so grateful for the time we spent together and are heartbroken over your loss. May you Rest in Peace.
We will always be here for your family with all our love and support,
Hannah Nissenbaum, Ivona Palinkas, and Hannah Mills
Thinking of you during their difficult time. My prayers are with you. ❤️
Arben and Family,
I can’t express my sorrow over Gloria’s passing. I know how proud you were of her. We have been friends and colleagues for a long time and I know what a family-oriented person you are and how committed you were to give Gloria and her sister a bright future. I can’t imagine how this unfortunate event has impacted everyone in your family. It is certain that life will not be the same for you. I pray for God’s peace to fill your heart and to give you hope. It is so sad to see Gloria passing away when she graduated from university and was about to explore life to the fullest. You and your family are in my prayers. We, at Mazo, are thinking of you. May God give you strength and healing.
My heartfelt condolence to you over the irreparable loss of your loving daughter. We are praying that God will comfort you with his love during this sad time. We are here to share your grief for losing your beautiful daughter. When life is darkest God is closest.

Gloria has always been full of warmth, laughter, knowledge, and friendship. I will forever consider her one of my longest and closest friends. Our memories together have truly been a blessing. My deepest condolences and prayers are with your family.
Manuela, I hope you and your family stay strong and that peace will come in time. I’m so sorry for your lost. It is unimaginable that this happened. Even though I never met Gloria, I will always cherish the stories that we used to share about our kids.
Dear Manuela, Arben & Arebela
Words seem inadequate to express the immense sorrow felt by the loss of your beloved Gloria. My heart is with you and thinking of your family at this most difficult time ♥️
I had the pleasure of teaching Gloria 7 years ago at NHS and she was undoubtfully one of the brightest students I have ever taught. I can’t believe that such a wonderful person is gone, dans la fleur de l’âge…
Mes condoléances à mon confrère Arben et à toute sa famille.
My deepest and heartfelt condolences to you, Manuela, Arben and Arbela. I had the honour of being friends with Gloria and witnessing the beautiful friendship bloom between my sister, Tiana, and Gloria. I will always remember Gloria’s bright smile and radiant energy. Gloria lit up every room she walked into and I will never forget her contagious laugh (and impeccable fashion sense). My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. She will live in our hearts forever.
To the Kodra Family,
My heartfelt condolences on Gloria’s tragic passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Gloria in the 7th grade at Notre Dame. She was such a bright and wonderful student, always hard-working and looking to do her best with whatever she did. Let the memories of her, and her beautiful spirit, help you through this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers for peace for your heart, and comfort for your loss, are with you during this difficult time.
I had the privilege of interviewing Gloria, a talented, young civil engineer, when she applied for a position in Arup in the fall of 2020. She conducted herself in such a professional way that, needless to say, we were thrilled to have her as part of our team. Gloria was gifted, bubbly, kind hearted and a joy to have in the office. She lit up the office with her happy demeanour and you could always hear Gloria before you could see her. She made so many friends in the office and was a popular team member, who made a big impact on all who knew her and her passing has left a huge void in the office. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Gloria’s Mother Manuela, Father Arben and sister Arbela and all her extended family and friends who are grieving her loss at this sad and difficult time. God bless you and may you rest in eternal peace dearest Gloria. You will remain in our hearts forever.
I lived across the hall from Gloria in residence during our first year at Queen’s, and around the corner from her for the next three years in Kingston. Whenever I ran into her, Gloria would greet me with the biggest smile and wave. Gloria radiated positivity and light, I know she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Sending strength to her family and friends ❤️
When my daughter told me what happened I felt sick. My daughter said Gloria lived on her same floor in 1st year at Queen’s. My daughter went on to tell me me that everyone liked Gloira! She also told me that Gloria was not only well-liked she excelled in school. I think the most significant thing my daughter said was that after 1st year, Gloria would smile at my daughter when they walked by on campus and even stop and have a chat. Most kids just ignored each other. I didn’t meet Gloria but I fell in love with her through the stories my eldest daughter told me. What a well brought up young person. Confident & lovely. God bless Gloria’s family & friends.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Gloria’s family and friends at this difficult time. I was shocked by the news of the passing of my friend and classmate at Queen’s. I will always cherish the times we spent laughing, drinking coffees, and working together through course projects while sitting at her kitchen table.
Gloria’s family was very important to her and she always expressed how grateful she was for them. I remember how proud Gloria was when her sister was accepted into Queen’s. The excitement and love she showed for her sister was admirable.
Gloria was such a loving person and it translated into her friendships. She was someone who always wanted to see her friends succeed. Gloria made sure she always knew what I was up to and would encourage me to celebrate even my smallest accomplishments. Her suggestion would usually be treating myself with good food!
I am honoured to call Gloria my friend. May she Rest In Peace.
To the Korda Family,
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences for Gloria’s sudden, tragic passing . Gloria was always happy . Gloria is a tremendous loss . May it comfort you to know that she was a wonderful student, kind, compassionate, lighting up the classroom with her beautiful smile . I wish you all peace during this very difficult time .
Mr Kodra,
My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones for the passing of your daughter. May she rest in peace and her memories live with you for years to come.
I am so sorry for your sudden and tragic loss. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
Arben and family,
Although I never had a chance to meet your beautiful Gloria, I could picture her in my mind – just the way you, as a proud father, would talk about her would warm my heart. Cherish the memories close to your hearts during this time and forever remember them. Sending you love and strength at this time. God bless you all.
To those closest to Gloria, my thoughts and prayers are with you. The thought of not hearing her contagious laugh or greeting someone on a call from across the office leaves me with a heavy heart, so I can’t even begin to imagine your sense of loss.
I had the opportunity to work with Gloria, and the impact she had on the civil team at Arup was demonstrated through the collective grief we felt by her loss, the kind words and memories of her from her colleagues, and the ever growing pile of flowers left on her desk.
In my first conversation with Gloria, I already knew she was going to be a great fit for the team. In spite of that conversation happening virtually, her warmth, determination, and confidence really shone through. We discussed our career aspirations, and my main takeaway was that she knew that infrastructure design was exactly what she wanted to do, and that she had found the perfect place to do it at. I was her Arup Buddy, and therefore was supposed to show her the ropes. However she seemed to have a firm grasp of them from day 1.
My opinion of her only grew as I worked alongside her on one of the many ongoing LRT projects in the office. She was bright, had a willingness to learn, and would also the tough questions where necessary. We joked that we would one day ride the LRT together, and when we would pass by a particularly problematic area of the alignment, we would grumble about the amount of trouble that it had caused us during the design process. She always knew when to inject a moment of levity when the project work got tough, and would not hesitate to share snacks either.
To the Kodra Family, We had the pleasure of being your neighbors for over 7 years and witnessed your beautiful family grow over those years. We hope you and your family stay strong. May Gloria’s memory be eternal and may she Rest In Peace. Our deepest condolences.
I consider myself lucky to have had the pleasure of teaching Gloria three times during her high school years. She was truly a special person. It is with ease I remember her smile and laughter, positive attitude, intelligence, work ethic, and always surrounded by friends. My heart has broken for all of her family and friends. She was taken far too soon. Please accept my deepest condolences. I hope you are able to find some comfort in happy memories as you try to deal with this tragic loss.
To the Korda family,
I am so saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Gloria. May you find comfort in the memories that are yours to cherish always and the strength in the companionship of all those lives that were touched by Gloria.
I was blessed to have Gloria in my grade six class at Notre Dame. Her light shined in the classroom and beyond and will continue to shine as we all share our beautiful memories of Gloria.
With my deepest sympathies and prayers ,
Allison McCord
I was a classmate of Gloria’s at NHS for 4 years – we shared a number of science and math classes together. She was so kind, incredibly bright and she often helped me with our homework assignments while giving me her best curly hair tips. In grade 12, we often chatted about our goals and dreams of university as we both shared interest in studying both business and engineering. After we parted ways with her going to Queens and myself going to Laurier, I often looked for her on LinkedIn to follow how successful she was becoming and reflect fondly on how we were both living the dreams we shared together in back grade 12. I was heartbroken to hear about her passing and know she will be missed greatly by all of her family and friends. ❤️

My deepest condolences to the family. I can only imagine what you are going through during this difficult time. The loss of a young bright woman such as Gloria is a devastating tragedy.
I was Gloria’s supervisor at work. She was a bright, intelligent, curious, young engineer. And an outgoing, happy, always smiling young woman. She had an infectious laugh, and would always be down to grab a coffee or lunch together.
I remember sitting with her at the end of last year doing her yearly review. Just the two of us, talking about what she had achieved in her first year of professional life. What her goals and dreams were for the upcoming year, what her aspirations were, what she wanted to achieve, both in her professional and personal lives. She had just passed her professional practice exam and was well on her way to becoming a full-fledged engineer. There was so much she wanted to do, so much life she wanted to live, so much potential she wanted to reach.
Thank you, Gloria, for being a part of my life, and thank you Gloria for being just who you were. I myself and the team are better for having had the privilege to experience your light.
To her family, I wish you all the strength in the world. May she rest in peace.
My heart goes out to Gloria’s family and anyone who was blessed to have known her. I had the privilege of working with Gloria at Arup. I distinctly remember meeting her for the first time this past summer. She expressed such excitement that day to be part of our team and boy did she carry that excitement, joy and energy forward. She was a spark for our office and made an effort to chat, learn about and connect with everyone, such was her confidence and love for the team. My desk is right by the door and so I get to informally greet just about everyone that enters in the morning. I get many nods and smiles and waves, but hers was by far the most enthusiastic smile and wave and it will be impossible to forget.
Arben I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you and sending you strength during this difficult time.
Many of us had the privilege of knowing Gloria during her 8 months at Arup. In her short time with us, Gloria proved herself to be an extremely bright, talented and enthusiastic engineer who was working on projects that made a difference in peoples lives and communities.
Gloria was always one of the first people to raise her hand to volunteer in support of charitable initiatives in the office. Her compassionate nature and desire to make a difference for those less fortunate was evident, as she sacrificed her free time and energy to positively impact those in our community.
As we reflect on Gloria’s time at Arup, it is clear that she left a lasting impression on those she interacted with. Gloria’s co-workers spoke about her sense of humour, her desire to use her expertise to make a difference and how she was comfortable taking on any challenge. Her laughter could be heard in office on a daily basis. Her spirit, beautiful smile and laughter will be missed by us all. It is clear that despite only being with us for a short period of time, she touched the lives of many.
Our deepest sympathies to your family and all of those that were fortunate enough to share in Gloria’s life.
Dear Arben and family,
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers daily at this unimaginably difficult time. Hunter, Krymson and Tristan also send their deep condolences and remember her from their days at NHS together.
May the beautiful memories of your precious daughter and sister bring you all some comfort in the days to come.
My heart breaks for you, Arben, Manuela and Arbela, for the tragic loss of your precious Gloria.I was so blessed to have taught math to Gloria for two years at NHS. Gloria was a very special girl who radiated true joy and genuine love for others. Her love for all of you, her family, was so apparent. Your dear Gloria was the essence of sweetness. While she was in university, I would often run into her when she was working at Superstore, and she was always excited to see me and would catch me up on her schooling. Gloria’s smile was contagious, and seeing her always brightened my day!
Though the time you were given with Gloria was far too short, I pray that you can see how God used her to bless so many. Our world is a better place because of her!
May the Lord comfort you and bring you peace in a way that only He can. May Gloria’s beautiful life well-lived be an example for all of us. Please accept my sincere sympathy and know that I am praying for the Lord to wrap His loving arms around you all.
To the Kodra family and friends of Gloria,
I am so saddened to hear of Gloria’s passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Gloria at N.H.S. She was such a lovely person. Please accept my deepest condolences. I hope you can all find some comfort in happy memories at this difficult time.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to Monsieur Kodra and his family. I had the privilege and honour of having M. Kodra as a teacher in grade 8. Although I did not know Gloria personally, M. Kodra always spoke of her so fondly and with great pride. Gloria was always given as an example for the rest of us to follow. It was clear that she was a never ending source of joy for M. Kodra and he never wavered in the belief that his students would be able to achieve what she was able to. Please accept my deepest sympathies and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Korda, and family,
I am a teacher at Notre Dame Catholic School, where Gloria attended. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. May God grant Gloria everlasting peace. May your family draw strength through prayer, and support from each other, family, and friends during this difficult time. I take comfort is knowing that Gloria’s beautiful light touched so many people.
Many regards,
Gwen Marecek
Arben and family,
Words cannot express how heartbroken we are for you. During these incredibly difficult times, hold each other close and cherish the memories.
To Dear Monsieur Kodra and family,
We were very fortunate to have you teach our daughter Marina during her time at Mazo de la Roche. Your encouragement and pedagogical skills have continued to positively influence her, in her journey. I underscore this because we had the pleasure of watching both your daughters play at their piano recital and they were absolutely brilliant. Seeing you and your wife in the audience as you watched with suspended breath is an image that just seems to correlate with all the previous comments. You both succeeded at raising a bright talented star in Gloria and her light will burn forever.
With warmest regards and Deepest condolences from our family to yours.
I would like to send my deepest condolences to Gloria’s family and friends. I am truly heartbroken for your loss. I work with Gloria at Arup and had lunch with her most days. I will always remember Gloria for radiating positivity and light. She made me feel welcome when I was new to the office and was always a friendly face I looked forward to seeing every day. She will be sorely missed
To Manuela and Korda Family ,
Please accept my deepest condolences for the tragic loss of your beautiful daughter. No parent should ever have to go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through these difficult times . May god grant you the strength and healing that you need .
Mr. Kodra and family.
Peace, ❤️, ☀️ Always. 🙏🏻

I met Gloria while representing Arup at a Queens Career Fair and Civil Engineering Talk in Fall of 2019. She approached the Arup booth at the Career Fair and we struck up a conversation. She was clearly very determined, keen and intelligent as well as extremely friendly and personable – I was immediately impressed by her. The following day I met her again at another event and I recall thinking that she was exactly the type of person we wanted at Arup – passionate, articulate, smart, social, kind and engaging. In these sorts of events you do end up meeting many bright young students but Gloria stood out to me in particular due to all of the qualities that have so eloquently been described in the posts above. We stayed in touch over the course of the following year and I met her at another Arup/Queens virtual event in Fall 2020.
Fortunately, she joined the Arup team and she made a big impact not just on the projects she participated in but with the team itself. I was able to stay in touch with her through a few careers chats from them on – the last one about a month or so ago – in which showed an incredible enthusiasm for her career and life .
She will definitely be missed and my deepest sympathies to your family during this unbelievably difficult time. I have three young daughters and I cannot imagine what you are currently going through. Please know and remember she made a big impact and impression to all she interacted with and she will not be forgotten.
Manuela and family, my deepest and most sincere condolences of this tragic and unimaginable loss! My thoughts and prayers are with you. I cannot express enough at this sad time. May God give you a sense of His presence as you go through this time.
Dear Manuela, Arben and Arbela, I’m so sorry for your loss, I heard so much from Manuela about her girls and how loving and proud she was. No wards can explain what are you going through, no tears can wipe off your sorrow. My heart goes to you, love and prayers.
To the Kodra family,
Amy and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. No words can express how upsetting this news was for me Arben. I did not know Gloria, I had only seen her in the mornings during my first year at Mazo. We all know how dedicated a man you are and that you and Manuela would have done everything and more for your two daughters. I cannot imagine the loss you feel at this time. I hope that God fills your hearts with peace. You are in our thoughts.
My deepest condolences to Gloria’s family and friends. Gloria’s joyful persona and positive attitude has affected all of us who had the privilege to work with her and we will miss her dearly.
Dear Mr. Kodra & Family,
We are so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your daughter. Please know that we are thinking of you during this difficult time.
With Love, Sajan & Family
To the Kodra Family:
Gloria, you made my high school years unforgettable (French class forever) and I knew you were going to do amazing things beyond it. Watching you from afar while you killed it at Queens only made me more proud to be your friend. You are such a beautiful person that never failed to make me smile and believe in myself (especially when it came to French haha). I love you so much and I am so honoured to have known you and to be your friend. Until we meet again🤍
My deepest condolences to Gloria’s friends and family. I didn’t know Gloria very well but she was one of the first people I met at NHS when I was a new student in Grade 11. During the short time I spent with her, she always had a smile on her face and I will never forget her warmth and how welcoming she was. I was shocked and heartbroken to hear about her passing. To a new student in a high school filled with unknown faces, hers is one that left an impact on me for how genuine and kind she was. I know she will forever be loved and missed by her family and friends.
Although I did not know her well, I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to know Gloria. I regret that I will not have the chance to see our friendship grow. She had a brilliant presence in our office at Arup. She had a clear confidence and was very kind. She reached out to me to tell me that she knew my younger sisters from Newmarket High School and also from Queens University. I felt a sisterly connection to her and loved seeing her at lunch where we would compliment each other’s home-made lunches and office fashion. I will miss her and all of the potential that she so clearly had. We will strive to carry out her legacy and honour the impact she had on all of us.
Love and deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Ellen Whitfield and sisters Mary, Gigi, Leah, Fiona, and Sophie
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Deepest and most sincere condolences of this tragic and unimaginable loss.
May God give you a sense of his presence as you go through this time.
The Masaro Family
Gloria was more than just a colleague, she was part of the Arup family. My fondest memories are those in which we would share cheap snacks and talk nonsense at lunch. Her presence touched everyone around her. I will miss her deeply.
Manuela, I’m so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your beautiful daughter. A vibrant life taken far too soon. My deepest heartfelt condolences. May the love of family and friends support you now and always.
To the Kodra family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Gloria when I was very young in elementary school at Notre Dame. I have such beautiful and wonderful memories of us learning, laughing, and playing together. She was always so kind, bubbly, smart, and had such a beautiful spirit. She was such a phenomenal friend and person.
I remember spending time in her backyard and making dance videos in her bedroom with another good friend of ours from elementary school. We kept in touch throughout the years as well, and I am deeply saddened to hear the news of her passing. She had a wonderful, positive, bright presence and light ever since I had met her when we were little.
I will miss her dearly, and I treasure every moment I had with her. My prayers and heart go out to her beautiful family and friends. ❤️
Sending my deepest condolences and love,
Megan Scornaienchi

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Kodra and Gloria’s sister,
I taught Gloria two courses here at Queen’s. I just found out a couple of minutes ago what happened. I still remembered her, even though one of the courses was on-line, and I had not taught her since 2nd year!
My deepest, deepest sympathies…
Arben, I was devastated to hear of the loss of your daughter. Take comfort and hold onto the beautiful memories you and your family share together. She sounded like a very wonderful young lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

My deepest and sincerest condolences to Monsieur Kodra and his family. I can’t express my sorrow over Gloria’s passing.
Melody’s remarks and piano stories helped us get to know your Precious daughter.
May you find comfort in the memories that are yours to keep forever, and strength in the company of all those who have been touched by Gloria’s life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
Yalda, Matthew, Melody
Dear Kodra family,
I was one of Gloria’s professors at Queen’s (3rd and 4th year). Gloria stood out. She was an outstanding student – conscientious and thoughtful and truly remarkable. I wish to convey my deepest sympathies.
Sincerely, Sarah Jane Payne
