elevated 2uIWb It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gregorio Sgro. God has called him into His kingdom peacefully on July 31, 2026 at the age of 62.

elevated 2uIWb He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Helen. Cherished by his beloved children Michael and Daniella (Connor). Proud and adored son to Vittoria. Gregorio will always be remembered by his siblings Dominic (Christine), Rosalba (Maurice), and his niece and nephews. He has now been reunited in Heaven with his dear father, Michele.

elevated 2uIWb He was a patient, loyal husband, father and friend. He always took the time to listen and offer tremendous, sound, solid advice. He focused on the good in life and despite his diagnosis, remained positive, never gave up and never once complained. He was always happy to hear about other’s adventures and accomplishments; there was no room for jealousy or disagreements in his path. He forgave quickly and focused on things that mattered. He prioritized living life to the fullest and adored his family and friends. His wife, children, and son-in-law were the center of his world. He cherished every family gathering, where good conversation, laughter, and a beer from his prized keg made for some of his most treasured memories.  He also inherited his father’s homemade vinegar recipe which required a unique balance of ingredients. He would happily deliver this vinegar to family and friends. Sauce (sugo) day was a day where Greg would put his planning and organization skills to the test to make sure this treasured family tradition ran as smoothly as possible.

elevated 2uIWb He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

elevated 2uIWb A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sam Babak and the staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital for their exceptional compassion, kindness, and care, which made navigating Gregorio’s diagnosis and treatment so much easier.

elevated 2uIWb In memory of Gregorio, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and designated to pancreatic cancer research.
