elevated gk7IH Hal passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 in Waterloo at the age of 91.  He was born 10 December 1934 in Thunder Bay (Fort William) Ontario the son of Harry and Margaret (Kennedy) Moran.  He’s survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Sue (Ferguson) and four loving children of whom he was very proud.  Kimberly, Steven (Michelle Douglas), Linda (Chris Marrese), Barbara (Jeff Carlick).  He also had eight lovely grandchildren who he treasured Sara (Anton Mamonov), Lauren, Jake, Marc, Sydney, Kelsey, Lizzie, and Ben. He is survived by brother Pat (Gillian) and predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Rod, Jack, Ed, and sister Mary.  Hal’s education included a BASc Mechanical from the University of Toronto (1957) and MBA from the University of Western Ontario (1962).  Hal was a member of the ROTC of the RCAF who sponsored him during his attendance at U of T and Hal in turn became a Flying Officer on active duty with the RCAF for 3 years upon graduation.  Moving across the country and back, he worked at General Foods and  J Walter Thompson, followed by 19 years at Molson Breweries.  He had several notable achievements including the founding and development of the Molson Indy which became the largest sporting event in Canada.  Hal also served as Board Chair of Etobicoke General Hospital.  Upon retirement Hal remained in Toronto and spent much time at his cottage on Georgian Bay and his home in Fort Myers, Florida.  He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and socializing, ideally with an extra dry martini or scotch in hand. Hal was the life of the party with charisma and charm to spare.  He always loved a good laugh and had a big heart.  He will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held on August 8th at 12:00 at  Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road E, Thornhill Ontario, reception to follow.
