elevated KM31T It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Hulda Cavallo, who died peacefully on October 28, 2021 at 85 years of age. She rejoins her beloved late husband Cosimo (2003). Cherished mother and mother-in-law to her four children: Catherine Cavallo (Giuseppe Giampaolo), Rosalyn Cavallo, Vincenzo Cavallo (Pamela Williams), and Lorieann Zaino (Marco Zaino). Adored Grandma to Raffaele, Alessia, Alessandro, Kristen, and Cosimo. Dear sister to Elsa (Hansjorg), and the late Emma and Werner.
elevated KM31T Hulda lived a life devoted to her family, who she loved with all her heart. She will be especially remembered for her generosity, her humbleness, her amazing and witty sense of humour, and most of all, her beautiful smile, always full of warmth.
elevated KM31T Visitation to be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd E, Thornhill on Monday, November 1 from 11:00 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, we are inviting family and friends to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter. A maximum of 30 people will be permitted into the visitation room at a time. An invitation only funeral mass will follow. Flowers graciously accepted or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would also be appreciated.

Vince and Family we are thinking of you with heavy hearts. Although we never had the privilege to meet your mom, looking at her picture she shows nothing but kindness and love.

Rosie and family. I think your mom and I would have been besties. She had the perfect combination of cheek and charm. So many “oldies” disengage from society and stop caring about things. Not Hulda. She was even a faithful listener to my radio show and one of our most regular Facebook posters. Heck – my dad can’t even spell Facebook, let alone use a computer.
So here’s to a woman who is an example to all of us. Enjoy life to its fullest and to the end. Care deeply but don’t take things too seriously. Learn, love, and laugh. And maybe throw in a swear word once in a while – just to keep everyone on their toes.
Your family was truly blessed to have such a woman in your lives. I wish she had been in mine!

My mother-in-law was a person who I loved to talk to for hours. She was wise, caring and had an amazing sense of humour. I’m going to miss her so much. The familiar sound of her voice and her beautiful face will both live inside my heart forever. I’ve known Mrs. Cavallo since I was a child and she was a mother to everyone. She was ALWAYS so gracious and welcoming and made everyone feel at home. When Rosie went on holiday for a week, I worked at the door company AND went home to dinner every night at the Cavallos! Mrs. Cavallo never once said ‘what are you doing here?” She just put out a plate and fed me.
She had a gentle, calm nature that would reel you in and then her mischievous spark would knock you back. But she was always kind.
She was effervescent. With a twinkle in her eye she dazzled everyone she met.
She will be greatly missed by everyone and my condolences to her family. You were very blessed to have her as a mom and I’m sure she will forever be in your hearts.

The death of your Mum will leave a void in the hearts of many of us who knew her. She was one of the warmest and kindest people I would ever hope to meet.

My heart goes out to Rosie and her family. I’ve known Mrs Cavallo since I was a child and she was always so loving and accepted us with open arms. When I was a naughty teenager and hanging around Rosie, I discovered that Mrs Cavallo had a mischievous side to her. My friends and I would crank call everyone we knew (sorry if you were one of them). This was before call display. When Mrs Cavallo found out what we were up to, she didn’t scold or reprimand us but said, “can I play too?” Mrs Cavallo knew how to live her life with purpose, compassion and on her terms. She was a talented painter ( I will cherish her painting always) and she knew how to love her family and friends. This is a lesson that we can all learn from! Never compromise your beliefs, and stand up for what you believe in, even if it means going against the entire world. Cheers to you Mrs Cavallo. Thank you for the life lessons that you taught me.

I am so saddened to hear of Holdi’s passing. She was such a wonderful person. She was a great friend to my mom. She was such a giving person. She would bring my dad biberli and nutsgiful and visit my parents in the retirement home. They loved her visits and I was lucky to be there for some of them too.
After my mom passed Holdi would call me to give me support. She said she “could be my new mom”. I was so blessed to have her support. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be forever missed. Thinking of you at this painful time.
