elevated wj9nb Our hearts are shattered over the passing of Ignatius Daniel “Danny” Gomes on Friday, November 5th, 2021, in Toronto, Canada. Beloved husband of the late Agnes (Aggie) Gomes. Cherished father of Derald (Corina) and his devoted daughter Chrystal, and loving grandpa of Derek (Dereky-boy) and Carly (Carly-girl). Predeceased by his beloved siblings, Sonny, Edmund (the late Clara), Carmina (the late Nepucino), Rufina, Mary (the late Ben) and survived by his loving sister, Lita (the late Assiz). Dearest brother-in-law of the late Ida (the late Jack), Eric (the late Mavis), Vivian (Yvonne) and Cyril (Anita).
elevated wj9nb He will be fondly remembered by his dear extended family and friends for his warmth, kindness and generosity. Danny was a former Comptroller at the Archdiocese of Toronto. Throughout his life, Danny was known for his love of service, devoting time to organizations including Serra Club of Toronto Downtown, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, Goan Overseas Association (G.O.A.) and Goan Charitable Organization (G.C.O.).
elevated wj9nb Visitation will be at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, located at 211 Langstaff Road East Thornhill, ON L3T 3Z2, on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 from 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm.
elevated wj9nb Funeral Mass will take place at Blessed Trinity Parish, located at 3220 Bayview Avenue North York, ON M2M 3R7, on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at 11am, followed by interment at Christ The King Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Avenue East Markham, ON L6B 1A8 (entrance at north-east corner of Reesor Rd).

Dear Chrystal, Derald and all the family,
Our deepest Condolences. Thanks to Derald for informing us the sad news. Even though we knew it would be sometime soon, it was a blow to us too, and we were very deeply saddened! Our hearts go out to you, you who did so much for him; but Chrystal you must rest assured that dad is now in Heaven and that he WILL look after you from where he is with the Lord. So be not afraid! Take Courage, the Lord loves each one of us, He will not forsake us.
And we are here anytime you want to call and chat or if there is anything we can do please do not hesitate to ask. Dad meant so much to us too, and to the Community, and anything we can do to help, we will do our best.
Dad was instrumental in many decisions taken at GOA meetings and he was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years; his cool, calm disposition and wisdom brought peace and reconciliation to many heated discussions those days. He will long be remembered!
