Ignazio passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on February 21, 2024 in Markham. He was the loving husband of Rosaria for 62 years. Cherished father to Patrizia (Ron). Beloved nonno of Kevin and Rachael (Cameron). Dear brother to Leonarda.
elevated Iw6wq Born in Vita, Sicily to Vincenzo and Caterina (nee Ponzo) Genco, the youngest of 5 children. He came to Canada at the age of 24 to start a new life with big dreams, which he accomplished with his beloved wife Rosaria by his side. Ignazio was a loving father, a leader, mentor and father-figure to all of his extended family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is a legend in the sailing and boating community. He was a generous man his entire life, a proud commander of the Knights of Malta – Order of St. John and loved to participate in many charity golf tournaments. His memory will always live on through all the contributions he made to help others and the memories we will all cherish forever. In memory of Ignazio donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation of Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Dear Rosaria, Patricia, Ron, and family. I was saddened to hear of Nat’s passing and that he has been ill for several months before that. I cherish the moments and dinners we shared together, the laughs and yes his favorite wine too. He will be missed by many, but the memories and his love for life will continue to inspire us all. May his journey to our Father’s ‘ home be serene and peaceful and may he always look down with pride on all that he has achieved. Sincere condolences to you all. from David and Pina
