It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Izidor at home, in the presence of his loving wife, Michelle, on February 9, 2024. Izidor will remain in our memories forever as the cherished father of Michael (Lori) and David (Marci), and proud grandfather of Quinton, Jessica, Kylie and Hannah. Izidor leaves behind his beloved sister, Anica, in Slovenia.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jakob and Francka, and by his brothers, Joze, Miha and Ciril and his sisters, Marija, Vida and Francka. He will be sorely missed by his sister-in-law, Mili, and her sons, Michael-Patrick and Sean, and many nieces and nephews throughout Slovenia, Australia and British Columbia.
elevated Zu1KZ In the spring of 1958, Izidor immigrated to Canada from Slovenia as a courageous young man determined to build a new life in his adopted country. Initially, he lived in Saskatchewan, then later moved to Ontario where he became a skilled plumber who worked hard to provide a good life for Michelle and their sons. Combining his strong work ethic and construction know-how with astute business decisions, Izidor eventually built 20 homes in Etobicoke. As a proud Canadian and lifelong member of Local 46 Plumbers Union, Izidor retired to the full-time enjoyment of sharing stories with his grandchildren, the pleasure of a good book, and many visits to his beloved Slovenia to visit family. His favorite pastimes included following the TSX, a spirited game of cards, summertime swimming at the Slovenian Farm and skiing.

Thank you for your warm and kind words…Izidor always remembered your family, to him your Mom was his second mom. Your parents gave him a home not just a place to live.
