elevated Qt1ug Peacefully, at home with his family on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in his 84th year. Loving husband to Rosalie (nee Bruno) of 60 years. Beloved father to Andrea (Daniel King), David (Dolores), Valerie (John Moore) and Maureen (Brian Sutcliffe). Cherished grampa to Remington, Katherine, Greyson, Lyle, Kade, Greg, Erik, Rachel, Eric, Christopher, Valerie (Steve Cowen), Nicholas and Pamela, and great grandfather to Ben and Wes. Sadly missed brother of Gary (Karen), Rosemary (Larry DeGrace), Sharon (Ted Pitts), Patrick (Margaret), Cheri, and predeceased by Gloria Gandour and Raymond Gregory. Brother-in-law to Norma (Lorne Melara), Rita (Charles Pemberton) and predeceased by Elaine and Joseph Melara. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Pearl and his in-laws Louis and Laura Bruno.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Avenue, Toronto), on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church (204 Alder Street West, Dunnville) from 10:00-11:15 a.m. on Monday November 4. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery (Robinson Road, Dunnville). If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s College School Bursary “Jim Gregory 55”, Toronto Western Hospital “Urology”, Blessed Trinity Parish, Dunnville Minor Hockey Association or St. Michael the Archangel Parish.

To the Family of Jim Gregory…The entire world of NHL hockey will miss Jim. On a professional note, he contributed so much of himself to the game, for which we all are extremely grateful. On a personal note, his family and friends are a testament to the husband, father, grandfather, and friend that he was. He will be greatly missed.
On behalf of the Dallas Stars, a contribution has been made to the hospital in his memory. We are so sorry for the very personal and significant loss left by Jim’s absence. We were all blessed by his life and presence.

It was such a wonderful honour to meet and work with Mr. Gregory over the years when I was at Hockey Night in Canada. Jim was always very generous with his time and was, above all, a very kind and supportive person. He will be greatly missed. My very best wishes to his family and loved ones.

To Rosalie and the entire family. The NHL has lost a great ambassador. I met Jim back in 1972 when I started as an NHL linesman. Over the next 25 years and beyond that my respect grew for him from watching his relentless work ethic. His knowledge of the game will be hard to replace. Rest in peace Jim.

My deepest condolences to all of you.
I got the priviledge of meeting Mr. Gregory and being Andrea’s friend in the elementary school which we all attended in Scarborough. Sometimes Mrs. Gregory would drive me home in her station wagon.
I remember Mr. Gregory was always smiling and very calm.

Who knew years later I’d find out my Dad’s cousin helped build Maple Leaf Gardens and the Toronto Maple Leafs would make him an honourary Leaf, giving him #100 at the age of 100 on his jersey in Dec 2009. As well we were at the last Toronto Maple Leaf practice at Maple Leaf Gardens and my son played a game there following the practice.

My sincere condolences to all the Gregory family. My husband, Danny Jones (deceased Sept 16/2019) had many stories and memories of living next to the Gregory family in Dunnville. He considered them to be his second family. I am sure it was automatic that a plate was set for him at the sunday dinners. Jim and all his family shared a unique kindness to all people which we would welcome in the world today. I can see Jim, Raymond and Danny meeting up again.
