elevated j9EPN It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Janice Ignacio (nee Barbosa) on July 14, 2020 at Bethany Lodge in Markham, Ontario.
elevated j9EPN Janice will be remembered by her sons; Arnold Ignacio and Jason Ignacio; his wife, Yolande Ignacio; her grandchildren; Aidan Joseph (AJ) Perez-Ignacio, Anna Kay Ignacio, Ellen Jane Ignacio as well as all of her friends and their families.
elevated j9EPN Janice was born in Janiuay, a municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines on January 6, 1945. She graduated from La Consolacion College in Mendiola, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce, majoring in Bank & Finance. After immigrating to Canada with her family in 1973, she continued her education with a Certificate in Computerized Accounting Systems and eventually becoming an Associate Member of the Canadian Payroll Association.
elevated j9EPN Janice was a devoted mother and cared for her family with great passion. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and gave them candies secretly every chance she got. She discovered a love for baking and started her own a cake business. She was well known for her delicious cakes. You could not have attended a family gathering, celebration or wedding without seeing one of her cake creations. She found any excuse to host a gathering and cooked a feast for her guests to rival any buffet restaurant. If there was music playing, she was the first one on the dance floor moving effortlessly to the rhythmic sounds and she encouraged others to join her. As a very spiritual person, she went on pilgrimages to the United Kingdom, France, Egypt and Italy. One her greatest spiritual joys was the opportunity to have an audience with the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican City as he performed a blessing on her head. She was a generous person and always offered to help in any way she could. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
elevated j9EPN Due to COVID 19, a private family funeral will take place on July 20, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home in Thornhill, Ontario.

I admired Ate Jan for her strength of character and her strong faith. I will continue to inspired by the actions she took and the things she said while she was alive. She will live in my heart and memories forever. Please accept my deepest condolences to the family.
To Arnold and Jason and family. Ate Janice was a wonderful person. When I first came here in Canada she have treated me really nice. Right she was full of fun and life during her years. I will never forget her as a beautiful woman with laughter and jokes and good food. Hope you find in your heart the power of love that she had never left in you. My family and I send our love and prayers in this trying moments. Once I have lost mine too.. it was painful yet whenever I was in a bind I could feel her hand wiping my tears. You will feel the same thing and whenever you want her she will always be there whispering to you the right thing to do . Pain will go away gradually and time will come thst only memories of happy days wuth her will be the only thing that will be remembered
