Obituary
Jeanette ‘Huna’ McDonald
Passed peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the age of 85. She is rejoined in heaven with her husband Blair. Jeanette will be forever missed by her daughters Debra (Kathy) and Mary Jean Brown. Cherished by her granddaughters, Christie and Jennifer (Cameron). She is now resting with her siblings Jean MacGillvary, Bobby Fraser and Alice ‘Sis’ McDonald. Jeanette will be missed by her nieces, nephews, family and many friends. She was retired from the City of Toronto after 35 years of service. Jeanette spent her retired years at the cottage on McGinnis Lake, and more recently at Harmony Hill Retirement Community.
The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) for a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. The final rite of committal and interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill). I was saddened to read of the passing of Huna McDonald and send sincere condolences to Kathy and Mary Jean. We worked together at the City of Toronto. Her vibrant spirit and positive outlook encouraged all of us. I will always remember the celebration of Huna’s 50th Birthday hosted by Kathy and Mary Jean. May you have strengh and courage at this difficult time.
