Jean’s Family. I remember the first time I met Jean at St. John’s
where she came to buy tickets for the St. John’ Lottery. We hit it off right away with good conversation. Not too long after Jean was working with me. She had a heart of gold and all good things that can be said about her.On my birthday a year ago, ( we were both
working the Lottery desk) She disappeared for a few minutes and
came back with plates of corned beef, smoked meat roast beef etc. cole slaw, potato salad etc. plus a nice birthday cake that she said for all around the desk. It was so nicely done and unexpected that I had tears in my eyes. ( what a day) She was one special person. She often talked about her dad and her sister who in Jean’s eyes was a very very special person. I still can’t believe that she is not here. I will miss you and your beautiful smile. Rest in everlasting Peace.
Sincerely
Ronny Blatt
Thank you so much Ron for sharing that wonderful memory of my sister. As it happens, I was recently given some photos from that very event, and saw for myself how happy the two of you looked. Your story captures so perfectly the type of thing my sister loved to do, i.e. spoil the people she cared about, often most lovingly done with yummy food and treats! Please know that she often spoke of you with affection and I know she very much valued your friendship.
Deepest sympathies to Jean’s family. She was a wonderful and caring person. She will be greatly missed.
Thank you Cathy.
Jean, you have left an immense impression on me; it was a pleasure and an honor to work with you at St John; you will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for ever.
I am glad I had a chance to see you in the gift shop just before you went into the hospital and share a few minutes with you. You always had an angelic smile and always ready to help. Rest in peace sweet Jean!
Thank you Sita for your kind words.
Jean, I’m so grateful for the times we chatted. It was a lucky end to my therapy days at St. John’s when I found you at the lottery desk. You were an amazing advocate and a wonderful listener. A truly kind and lovely person. You will be missed dearly.
Thank you Meredith.
Jean, I will miss you, your lovely smile and many kind words. When I stopped to talk to you at the Lottery Desk, I loved to joke with you about the little dish of chocolates you kept at the front of the desk. They were really a sweet treat to lure people in to buy lottery tickets, weren’t they?
You touched so many people, Jean – people in the amputee peer support group, volunteers on “Team Jean” for the Achilles Run/Walk, your fellow volunteers and your many friends. May you rest in God’s Peace.
Sincere condolences to Jean’s family at this very sad time.
Thank you Sue.
My thoughts and prayers to Jeans’ family. She will be greatly missed. I will never forget her amazing smile and heart of gold.
May you rest in peace sweet angel.
Thank you Grace.
