elevated hdx2K Obituary
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt Joan. She will be lovingly welcomed into heaven by her brother, Reginald Rivard; her sister, Lorraine Young; and her niece, Margaret Lalonde.
elevated hdx2K Joan was always known as the “fun aunt” and will be fondly remembered for speeding around in her sports cars, with two of her nieces or nephews jammed into the front seat, holding on for dear life. A strong and independent woman, Joan was never afraid to let you know when you were wrong. She spoke her mind freely and never wavered from her beliefs.
elevated hdx2K Her faith in the Lord was matched only by her deep love for her family. A lifelong nurse, Joan dedicated her career to caring for others, working in some of Toronto’s busiest hospital emergency departments. She will be especially remembered for her many years of compassionate service at White Eagle Long Term Residence, where she rose through the ranks from Attending Nurse to Head Nurse and ultimately to Director of Nursing.
elevated hdx2K Joan will be sadly missed and warmly remembered by all of her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

My Aunt Joan, Was a devoted catholic that practiced her faith daily. She was an avid reader. I don’t think there is a book she hasn’t read. She loved her cross words and she also loved to knit. She was always there for her nieces and nephews. When my mother (her sister died) she was so strong for us. She was a kind loving and caring person. I will miss her so much. I never imagined life without her. I Love You Aunt Joan! Forever in my heart. Your niece Cathy
Aunt Joan was a beautiful lady! She was always so happy us whenever we would visit. She was very talented and loved reading and doing her word puzzles. I am so grateful for the time spent with her . May she rest in peace. I love you Aunt Joan .
Dear Catherine and Family
I was very sad to hear that our Gardenview neighbour had finished her beautiful life. It was my privilege to know Joan. I enjoyed every visit I had with her. I admired her in so many ways. Mostly, I learned of her deep faith. It sustained her and inspired me!
