It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joao Americo Ramires on June 24, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Joao is survived by his loving wife Dalia, and his daughters Helena and Grace. He will also be greatly missed by his son-in-law Berdj, granddaughter Jessica, grandson in-law Robert and his great grandchildren Xavier and Savannah, as well as his extended family.

elevated gcyoC Joao was born in Portugal, immigrated to Angola and then moved to Canada with his wife and children in 1976. Joao made friends wherever he went, with a love of life and joyous sense of humour. Joao loved spending time with his family, cultivating his garden and sharing the fruits of that garden with his neighbours. He also loved animals and was particularly fond of birds. We will always remember his warmth and generosity and we know that he is in a better place with his loved ones that made the journey before him.
